In short: Always a pleasure to run In full: Nice run in a nice town organised by nice people... what more can a runner ask for. Ken HM is always an enjoyable experience and one of the best half marathons in the area. Keep up the good work and see you again next year! Date of review: September 8, 2011

In short: HOW THE MIGHTY HAS FALLEN... SUCH A SHAME!! In full: The 2 Castles is now too BIG for its own good. I have ran this race many times and I am sad to say that yesterdays disspoinment was another nail in the coffin. Im not sure if the organisers read this if they do but please consider the following advice -
1. 4000 runners is now TOO MANY. You do not have the space or facilities to accomodate so many runners, spectators and vehicles. 2. Many runners at the finish do not have their bags or cars until they return to Warwick and the fact that theres nothing in the goody bag to eat is so inconsiderate, a banana or mars/cereal bar would not break the bank. Many runners complained about this. 3. The organisation at the the transfer buses was a SHAMBLES!! There were no buses for over half an hour whilst everyone waited in the cold and wet. There was no organisers, queue or information. When finally a bus arrived there was a mad rugby style scrum for everyone to get on. When finally an organiser arrived he had little control during long waits.
Its such a shame to see such a great race fall from grace. I just hope they learn the lessons from yesterday - its quality not quantity thats important. Date of review: June 13, 2011

In short: MY FIRST TIME AT THE RUGBY 10 AND REALLY ENJOYED IT In full: Now this is my type of race! Friendly, welcoming, not too overcrowded, rural, challenging course, plenty of parking with good facilities before and after. I prefer these smaller local races than the big city events. Much more enjoyable and no stress... just turn up and run! Date of review: November 1, 2010

In short: A GOOD CITY RUNNING EVENT WORTH A GO In full: Second time Ive ran this and its improved since the first time. A good, organised event but room for improvement. Toilets are still a problem - many more portaloos required to reduce long queues. Also event may benefit from a park n ride scheme from a large carpark on outskirts, perhaps Fosse Park near the motorways. Date of review: October 11, 2010

In short: One of the highlights of the year In full: This is always a special race... the reason why I have ran every 1 since I started running 7 years ago. Its always a great race, friendly, well organised and a challenging course... even if the weather is sometimes unkind. The technical t-shirt (the best of any race) is worth the entrance fee alone. One you can actually run in... great material, sensible colours and not plastered in advertising!! Well done Shepy... again! Date of review: November 1, 2009

2009 Everards Leicester Marathon

In short: Not bad... but could have been better In full: The actual course it self is recommended especially for those looking to run their first half / full marathon, or those looking to run a PB, as its fast, flat and friendly on the feet. My main critism is the start/finish area. Difficult to park near venue, not enough portaloos (long queues), baggage tent too small and needed more staff, again causing long queues and also bags being held OUTSIDE the tent. Overall, good city event but room for improvement next year. Date of review: October 12, 2009

In short: Friendly but challenging half mara In full: Well organised, friendly and enjoyable event for more experienced runners. The course may be too difficult for beginners who are looking to do their first ever half mara. Marshalling, water staitions and start/finish facilities all excellent. Date of review: October 5, 2009

In short: Great Race to Kick start the year In full: Another top race, superbly organised once again by Godiva Harriers. Good changing facilities, clubhouse for refreshments, clear fast course, well marshalled and as always quick to issue the results with prize givings to follow. Friendly club feel but a strong, fast field so tough to get placings. Date of review: January 2, 2009

In short: A unique race in a beautiful city In full: There is no race like this. The route is unique to say the least. 2 laps of a horse race course, many steps as you adventure up and down city walls and canal tow paths await along the way. Because of this it is definately not a race for speed or PB attempts, but if you're looking for a friendly race, set within beautiful city surroundings over the festive period then its one to consider. In short: ANOTHER FIRST CLASS HALF MARA BY COV!! In full: Only the 4th event but already this is a must for the midlands running calender. As with every year so far its very well organised both at the start/finish area and all around the course with the marshalling and waterstations. The new course was challenging with several tough inclines to battle. Runner, volunteer or spectator, this is a very special event all of Coventry can be proud of! Date of review: October 20, 2008
