In short: If Carlsberg did Races....
In full: Another great race from the Halstead team. This race is how a medium sized club organised race should be done. It has everything, great HQ, playful course to keep you interested, smooth organisation, some of the best water stations and marshals around, great scenery and good medal, tech shirt and goody bag.

Little to improve upon - apart from that 400 meters of grass at mile 26 :-)

In short: Flat fast course, excellent organisation but at mercy of weather as exposed
In full: Brilliant organisation and marshalling, supportive and friendly. Good race HQ with changing and showers.

Fast flat course, not sure why 1/2 marathon had to set off first but that was only major gripe.

Hot day and seemed to be plenty of water on second lap think virtually every marshall had extra water in bottles so you could carry.

Very exposed course so will always be at merch of weather.

Pleasant route mixing quite country roads, paths and seafront - nice mix.

Results texted to you within minutes.

Great value race and well put on.

In short: Bit of everything alongside brilliant marshalls, great day out
In full: Well worth adding to your running calendar

Race is one off two halfs, first half is mildly challenging with a few slopes up and down. Shared with the half marathon runners so temptation is to run too fast.

Second half is largely flat and runners spaced out so challenge is different but equally testing.

Scenary is good and varied although if you dont like views of the sea then this isnt the race for you.

Marshalls are great among best of any race I have done. Lots of aid stations.

Medal and T shirt added to aid stations make this great value

Will be back

In short: This race has everything and just seems to get better and better - when can I sign up for next year.
In full: Think this is how local races ought to be organised and cant understand why more arent? The guys at this club know how to put on a great race for runners of all levels.

Good HQ and organised start, slightly narrow funnel to go over timing mats but seemed to get over them quickly. Course itself is playful but not overly difficult, lots of ups and downs (not sure if much actually flat) but none of either is severe. So lots of variety.

Marshalls deserve a special mention - outstanding. Supportive and so so many of them. plenty of water stops and an extra one near the start as it was warm and think they also bused round a few extra cases of bottled water for the marshalls to hand out.

It is a two loop race which isnt normally my cup of tea but love the scenery on this one so went easily (love the downward slop at about 25 miles)

Nice finish with a crowd to cheer you in. Good medal, OK t shirt excellent goody bag. This race is how it should be done and will be back next year.

In short: 35,000 runners, 10,000 helpers, a million supporters - great day
In full: Always worth doing London, its probably not the best "race" there is but a great reminder of why we run.

Good organisation although slight problem with clock on Red start with wrong time. Well marshalled, excellent water and energy drinks, supportive crowds.

Only let down by (a) idiotic runners either suddenly walking in middle of road or dropping water bottles in wrong place and (b) cheap nasty T shirt (come on adidas you can do better)

But arace every runner should do to remind you what fun running with others is.

In short: Well organised trail race - but be prepared for laps - lots of laps
In full: Marshalls were great, organisation good, route challenging with two slopes that got harder longer race went on. About 50% on grass 50% on forest trails...not as muddy as I expected.

But feature of teh race for good or bad is the laps - 12 of them for the marathon which was hard in later stages - so tempting to call it a day after 9 or 10!

Good value, lots of refreshments, quite nice medal although not bespoke and cotton t shirt

One to do but not sure every year
