In short: Another tough but great race, highly recommend it!!!
In full: Again Pensford has run a well organised tough race, I keep surprising myself but I would certainly regard it as one of the toughest ROAD races in the calender. The scenery is wonderful and detracts from the pain of the hills, the cakes afterwards are just to put the pounds back on after expending so much energy. The staff are helpful, pleasant and encouraging as are the Marshalls. I will do it every year if i can but will always ask myself on the first hill 'why did I enter this' but then as the locals cheer you along you know why, it is such a challenging friendly race!!!!!!

In short: Hilly but brilliant race
In full: First time running this race and it lived up to its expectations. Very hilly but challenging, organisation was brill and the people were so friendly, atmosphere was great. I much prefer medals to tshirts as I usually end up giving them away I got so many!! Will definately be back next year to beat this first attempt. ps, the cakes, bacon rolls and tea were worth waiting for!!!!! :-)

In short: Great race, shame no signs on the way in from the motorway.
In full: First time and well pleased with the organisation and the route. No signs from the motorway and traffic was a big problem but very good race. Goodie bag was brill, loaf of bread and hair conditionder, (I usually use a chamois) and beautiful views. Big thanks to the 50min pacers, helped me to a big sub 50 pb!!!!!

In short: Lessons learnt from last year but not enough!!!!
In full: The start itself was fine but signs to the pens where useless, not high enough. The Warm up aerobics, couldn't see anything. The entry and exit are far too narrow for the amount of people, the exit along by the rugby club is too narrow and should be one way. The exit ramp was better but as someone has said, get us on to the field where ther is more space!! Close the roads earlier, restrict traffic earlier so the roads are clear for the runners on time!! Goodie bags where better but NO TEABAGS and NO CRANBERRY SAUCE, its not what you need after 13 miles!! Banana, Mars, Energy bar, Fliud replacement drink, thats what is needed. Better but not there yet and as others have said, good race, shame about the organisation!! For goodness sake do something about the cost, London Marathon and Bath Half Marathon costing nearly the same, its ridiculous, it cant cost more to run a half Marathon in Bath as compared to a Marathon in our Capitol City????????

In short: At last the organisers seem to be listening to the important people.
In full: A good race this year, a little hot for me but then only one person controls that!! I found it a little difficult to get into the pens, more controlled entrances please. The staggered start seemed to work better than I thought but oh those cobbles, its a pity we have to go down Welsh Back, it really makes running difficult when your feet are burning and your legs are like lead!!! Can they not put mats down like London??? Anyway I beat my last half time by 6 mins so well on my way to break the 2hr barrier!!! I will be back.

In short: Well organised friendly run, good crowd at the start/finish not much elswhere.
In full: This was my first Wells 10K and I hope I can fit it in to next years running. Was not on top form so would like to see how I can handle the hill next time. Friendly atmosphere, not much crowd support out of the city, but then it was not a very pleasant day weatherwise! I would highly recommend this run for beginners and stalwarts!!

In short: Challenging but well organised!
In full: First time at Frenchay, heard a lot about it and it is as challenging as they say. Two very tiring hills although I found the first in Snuff Mills worse than Blackberry. Well organised, my Garmin said I run over a minute quicker than the result, I didn't start it till i ran over the mat, so am wondering if they only take the finish on the chip?? Even so I will be back next year.
