In short: Tough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In full: I had no idea what the course was like until I ran it. It was certainly a shock to the system, I was expecting 1 hill at the end but the whole course is quite undulating with hardly any flat sections. Felt very satisfied when I had finished with a reasonable time. Organisation excellent and really good value for money with entrance free to the fun day for 2 people. Will be back for more punishment next year when I will know what to expect.

In short: Fantastic race
In full: Really enjoyed my day knocking over 3 months off my previous PB. Only a couple of annoying things I picked up on. There seemed a severe lack of mens toilets at the start with a very long que just before the start, energy drinks would have been nice at a couple of points around the course and there were no portaloos on route (could be a problem if you were caught short as the area is urban with no bushes to pop behind) :) Overall though the event was well organised and smoothly run.

In short: Lincoln City Councils inept organisation strikes again
In full: This could be a great race BUT wasn't. The race was 25 minutes late starting due to cars being parked on the route, this wouldn't have happened if the roads were closed earlier rather than 1 hour before the race. The race itself went smoothly and the route was well marked but after the finish any praise I had for the organiser was long gone. I had to wait 20 minutes in a queue just to get to the wate and then another 25 minutes to get to the T-shirts and medals. Why couldn't they just put a goodie bag together and pass it to the runners as they crossed the finish line? The lack of marshalls at the finish made everything a bit of a free for all. The baggage system did however work quite well with runners being able to drop their bags off at the start line and pick them up at the finish. I''ll do this race next year but if it's no better it will be the last time.

In short: Good race let down by mix up with the route
In full: This could and should have been a very good race BUT the pace car cocked up at the beginning leading runners the wrong way which resulted in the race finish being over a mile from where it was meant to be. After running 13.1 miles you really don't want a long walk back to collect your goodie bag and T-shirt. It wouldn't have been so bad if they had water available at the revised finish. Because of the cock up all the distance markers were out by a mile which was quite confusing when no-one let you know what was going on until after you had finished. The route was good although hard work due to the wind.I might do it again if the organisation were better but won't be back next year.
