In short: 3rd Year running but no timer chip in my pack!!
In full: This is my absolute fav race of the year and I've run in all three of them, this year being the best weather by far! My one and only problem encountered is this year my timing chip was missing from my pack. I stupidly didn't open the pack until the day and didn't have time to locate the officials to tell them of my plight before the race, alas no official time AND I now find out I have to pay again for losing the chip that I never recieved? Help! Also can't get through on the phone number given. Not fair! Now they don't know I ran the race and won't send me the preferential emails either. :o(

In short: The knees ooooo the knees!
In full: Second time of doing this race, 2 years apart, and beat my last by 5mins so am v chuffed. Found the hills positively offensive as only remembered the Queensway one so kept thinking I was in the clear when yet another hill loomed in front which did make me want to throw myself on the floor in a tantrum, however managed to stay vertical and then I threw myself along the final 5 miles to make up time and my knees are feeling v injured today as a result. That said, super race, a real sense of achievement, the best crowd support you can get and thank you for the orange slice and banana! Query - lack of loos at start/finish and didn't see any enroute unlike in 2008? And the post finish line was way too crowded - should be lengthened and only runners allowed in that area. Had to fight my way, gasping (post finish 400 yrd sprint) to find the water. Either move water closer and eliminate the non runners from the area or give me a goody bag with water?!!! Super day and PERFECT running conditions.

In short: The hills the hills!
In full: Well, despite feeling like I've been kneeling on pencils overnight, I must admit I am glad I did the race. I'd heard the route was hilly but I'm glad I didn't look into it further nor drive round it as it'd have def put me off! That Queensway(?) hill took the mick, it just kept going, but for some reason I too managed to keep going and didn't actually find it too bad. My knees are def feeling the effects of the steep down hills today. Now for the crowd: well, I've never seen such support and in such uninviting weather, I really appreciated it and waved back lots - thanks for the jelly babies and oranges!
Organisation: The mile markers were always a welcome sight, start and finish fine, although spectators just can't help themselves crossing the path in front of you grrrrr. Loo's I thought were fine, although could do with a couple half way round..for us ladies that can't go as easily as you fellas?! Agree re baggage provisions (although two nice ladies in the tent selling the Hastings Sweatshirts looked after ours which we retrieved no probs or nor delay), also wasn't aware of oj available and the finish was v v congested.
Treated ourselves with saus and chips as a job well done! Fab experience thank you from Orpington!
