In short: Worth doing the hills for the fantastic views
In full: I enjoyed this race - although the first two hills were rather tough, the spectacular views at the top across Wiltshire were well worth the pain! The marshalls were very encouraging and the event well-organised. A great evening race!

In short: Well-organised race with an excellent atmosphere
In full: Well-organised race, with fantastic crowd support for the majority of the route. Loved the drumming bad in Queens Square! Nice medal, t-shirt and goodie bag - thank you to the organisers.

In short: Muddy, hilly rough n tumbling fun!
In full: Well-organised race with encouraging marshalls and excellent cake/refreshments at the start and end. Beautiful scenery all the way around. Loved running through the water and the mud - not so sure about some of those hills though. Hardcore or what?! All in all, a fun event with the aim of 'surviving' rather than racing.

In short: Glad I wore my trail shoes!
In full: This was a great run to do straight after a bit of Christmas overindulgence. Very bleak and explosed on the Plains but strangely beautiful scenery at the same time, heightened by the snow. Well-organised, with loads of water stations, regular 'drive-bys' by race vehicles and friendly, encouraging marshalls.

Some of the terrain - particularly the tank tracks - was difficult to run on and wearing trail shoes was definitely the right decision.

My watch measured the course at 12.7 miles, instead of 14, but I was quite happy to finish at that point!

In short: Hardcore hills and mud!
In full: Lots of steep up and downhills, which meant some great views and scenery in places. Well organised with clear markers/hill numbers and encouraging marshalls. Very muddy but great fun!

In short: Running through Hell? I think so!
In full: What an enjoyable race - only those of us crazy to do these type of things will understand me saying that! Awesome atmosphere and great camaraderie amongst participants. Little me had to swim the Bog of Doom but fortunately managed to stay upright in the Lake towards the end. The Hills of Hell at the end were nothing compared to some of the hills you go up and down during the majority of the race. Beautiful scenery and lots of fun.

Downsides were the portaloo situation at the start. Blocked already by 9am...dread to think what they're like now if they haven't been replaced for the Sunday lot! Not many marshalls on the course either, but luckily I didn't see anyone running near me needing assistance at any stage.

All-in-all, lots of cold messy fun but what a sense of achievement when you finish!

In short: A fun, challenging cross-country run
In full: I really enjoyed the wonderful scenery around the route and the river crossing at Iford has to be a highlight! Good organisation, encouraging marshalls and smoothly run - I hope to do this race again after such a fun experience this year.

In short: Fantastic friendly muddy race!
In full: Really enjoyed the race - superb organisation, encouraging marshalls and a challenging cross-country course. Loved getting the special mug memento instead of a t-shirt. I will definitely come back next year for more!
