In short: One of the best
In full: Very well organised event, from collecting your race number to picking up the bulging goody bag every marshal/volunteer was pleasant and helpful, the course is an interesting mix of rural roads, woodlands paths and fields, not a good PB course due to the single file paths after around the 5K mark but sometimes races are not about PB chasing and just having fun, this event is one of the latter, count me in for next year.

In short: Dull but quick course.
In full: Bit of a dull run through Trafford Park Industrial estate and car parks with a scenic finish at the Lowry.

In short: Excellently marshalled, two changelling hills with a nice track finish.
In full: Challenging 10 miler with a couple of nasty hills thrown in for good measure, weird and wonderful goody bag containing meal worms and plasterboard fittings?? Superb technical t-shirt to boot.

In short: Mud ! Mud ! Glorious Mud !
In full: Running for a couple of hours through bogs and rivers should not be that fun !! What a brilliant event, me and my mate were laughing all the way around, loved every minute of it, although making us think we had to go back up the very first hill again at the end was a tad cruel!!

In short: Very good debut for the English Half
In full: For a first time event it was done very well, great scenic out and back course with plenty of support and drink stations along the way.
Very well organised finish area with different sized T-Shirts available it means I will actually get to wear mine with pride instead of the usual 'one size fits all' large.
The Medal and T-Shirt are both fantasic and a decent goody bag to boot.
I only have one issue to bring up that may be addressed next year, when people registered online they were asked to put there expected finish times in and I assume numbers were alloacted to reflect this but at the start everyone just lined up together, why not do what Great Run events do and have people in there own pens which would help ease the congestion on the narrow part of the course?

In short: Based on today this should be renamed 'The Wet and Windy 10K'
In full: Despite the wind, rain, cold and even the waves crashing onto you for the return leg this was totally enjoyable, every finisher deserved their medal and hot cuppa at the end.

In short: Garstangs best kept secret.
In full: Wonderful low key run on a very scenic route, not good for a PB due to the numerous hills but well worth the travelling. Nice to start in the evening for a change and a food at the end to boot.

In short: Poorly organised, great support from the locals.
In full: This was my first marathon, the weather on the day was beyond anyones control, the issue with the water stations was plain to see for everyone and I like others had to resort to picking up half empty discarded water bottles at one point. The finish area was a shambles, the organisers need to attend at the Great North Run to see how to arrange a finish area.

In short: Superb event for all abilities
In full: My third time doing the Bolton 10K and this was the best yet, superb organisation and with the change of starting point and chip timing this improved the start so much. Thanks guys!! And a great T-Shirt this year too !!
