In short: Could have been good! In full: A promising event let down by poor organisation.
Chip timing failed - the one thing you really want to know when racing and you have trained hard to do so!
A 10k route mixed with a half marathon route never works. I was having to weave in and out of 10k runners where the 10k and half marathon routes crossed at the end. This just makes you seem rude when you have to shout other runners out of the way as you think your on for a PB!
Goody bag a joke - would rather had just had the water - not a plastic bag with two flyers!
Baggage area was in the marquee stored behind a desk and seemed highly unorganised. Left mine back in the car in the fear I might not see it again!
On the plus side this is a great route and just some simple organisation techniques would improve it dramatically. Date of review: May 26, 2014
In short: Great off road Half by the Riverbank of the Thames In full: Perfect conditions, friendly runners and intresting fast course made for a great race day. Bridges, kissing gates and multi terrain surfaces keep you intrested and on your toes until the final mile. Good Job Purple patch! Date of review: March 26, 2012
