In short: Poor goody bag, not enough water stops
In full: Compared to much less cheaper races the goody bag was terrible. One t-shirt, a drink and a banana!!

I also thought there wasn't enough water stops during the first 17 miles of the race - when compared to races such as the London Marathon

Finally, much worse for me was the poor guy who collapsed in the bus queue back to Mill Road. When the paramedics finally turned up, they stayed with him for 5 minutes and then sent him on the bus. On the journey to the car park, the poor guy collapsed again. Everyone on that bus knew the paramedics/first-aiders should have stayed with him longer the first time he collapsed. Poor show.

I agree with other comments about having to collect the numbers. If there was a decent sized expo to visit, I wouldn't mind - but it seemed a worthless exercise.

This is my third year doing Brighton - worse year running wise (injury), but I was very disappointed with the whole event (maybe the weather on the Saturday contributed to that as well) - Can't promise I will be back

In short: A good idea. But the route was dangerous in places
In full: I have done a few night runs and the route is usually on flatter surfaces. This route would be challenging during the day and at night it is dangerous.

A good idea though, may do it again but will take it nice and slow.

In short: Everything worked like clockwork - another great race
In full: Well done Reading Roadrunners. A great race, well organised and very enjoyable.

The water stations were very well spaced, the marshalls were great and the goody bag was respectable. I did miss that ForGoodness shake though.

For anyone training for a spring marathon - this race is not to be missed

In short: Not very challenging. A bit expensive and no goody bag
In full: First thing, first - well done to the prganizers for not cancelling as a result of the weather.

Started off badly though when I walked all the way to the start only to be told by the marshall I needed my number (which I left in the car) to collect my running chip. Surely they have a starting list!!

I appreciate the cold weather meant that the course had to be changed and there was no water because of the ice - but instead of shortening the course, I would have preferred if it was lengthed to make up for the lack og cold water, bogs, etc.

Very pricey when you consider no goody bag either.

A bit disappointed, but I will be back next year

In short: A really tough well organised race. Great scenery but hard as nails hills
In full: As another poster said, forget London, run a real marathon. This is one hard race and I swear all the way round I keep asking myself, why?

But the buzz you get from finishing makes me want t come back for more - a real sense of achievement once you cross the finish line.

Organisation was faultless. I agree with an earlier post, no need for chip timing, losing a couple seconds here or there - really doesn't matter

In short: Tough but glorious scenery
In full: A small mix up at the start meant the field went immediately off course and we an extra half mile up a hill - there were enough hills I could have done without it.

Other than that every thing went smoothl with sufficient water and gel stops. The scenery was great, the course was dry and the sparse supporters gave as much encouragement as the could.

That hill at the end of the Marathon is a real killer though. 2 miles up hill (a steep hill) after 24 miles - oh I suffered!!!!

Saying all that this race could become one of m all time favourites if I could get my summer training sorted. I will be back.

In short: A great race with excellent organization and good value for money
In full: Second year running this race and enjoyed it even more this year. The race is well organized, starts on time, loads of supportive marshals and a great goody bag at the end.

Well done Handy Cross Runners and Grant and Stone. Looking forward to next year.
