In short: Simply divine 10K with positively the best views, organisation, atmosphere, charity entries & mix of ages for a brilliant 10K!
In full: A 10K that offers the freshest of air in your lungs along a road with the best views of the Campsie's ever & at the end you get a great medal & a coffee & cake from Doyles stall to match! There are plenty of toilets, changing rooms, great starting & end point organisation, genuine enthusiastic support along the way, delightful bag handing over with a smile at the end, hearty fun announcer, plenty of water on route (with lid loosened thank you) handed to you by happy Balfron community children, great marshalling at well marked points keeping the run back & finish clear, good quality t shirts & goody bags very goody! Thank you Balfron 10k - the best 10k for sure with everything thought about, considered & delivered for the runner & spectators! Here's to 2014!

In short: I've never loved the great outdoors so much as running the Balfron 10K - my RAVE RUN!
In full: The faster I ran, the faster I was done and boy - the sweet, juicy, cool oranges at the finish, never tasted so good! The conscientious and mindful nature of the attention to detail of the whole event from the four pins neatly put together for your number to the numerous politely phrased signs throughout the race, absolutely put the runner first. The piper at the half way point, the Usain Bolt fix we all needed to smash our own PBs! This year was a new track record for the male and female and a prize for the first local - nice one on both counts. Local residents along they way from young and younger, cheered rapturously as we ran past, many with jelly babies and more water, fantasitic we puffed and huffed our way to the finish and brought an infectious smile to our faces. They say that the real purpose of running isn't to win a race; its to test the limits of the human heart - well, to the organisers and folk of Balfron, you have huge hearts in your generosity. Thank you and hear's to 2013.

In short: Utterly butterly fabaroonie & hip-hop-happy run!
In full: This is the race to spark everyone's running potential and a must for the diary for any runner and their families - for a true family day it is! For those of us who are priviledged to start and finish, it gives us the opportunity to really see how a race should be managed as well as evaluating our time as a runner on the tarmac. From the meticulous organisation of the key players; the genuine charm of the registering volunteers, to the mighty luminous plentiful effective marshalls and not to forget the cheery children at the 3K and 6K water stations(whom we must especially thank today for their most welcome showers and sprays of water - adeptly targeted!) - it was a joy and priveledge to be part of it all. The sun shone gloriously and the wind blew in exactly the right direction - on our faces homewards up the steady, incline to the finish line at the school. The support was epic from the locals who were out in force, cheering and clapping with gusto - to the piper at the midway 5K as we turned tail. The views were a magical distraction when the uphills seemed endless and the support from fellow runners, near and far, doing high 5's, simply great cammaradare. All in all - its a great family day out and the local cafe Doyle's cappucino and cake stand - not to be missed as a spectator or runner! Only 365 days and counting til 2012...............can't wait! xx

In short: A happy race. An exhilarating adventure of a run, magically unique, with quantum leap organisation - it makes one appreciate the beautiful world we live in!
In full: I love to laugh as much as I love to run. Combining both is the best ever tonic and I wasn't alone! There were smiles on all of the runners without exception as we all headed out and all headed back again. The astonishing organizers ensured the race flowed with energy easily and effortlessly with an attitude of serendipity. They should rejoice in the great deal of wonderful work completed - we all appreciate it. The effective handing out of the water by the little and big hands of the Balfron children, ensured that there was not a dry mouth during the run and their enthusiasm intoxicating. What generous goodie bags! Thank you! The chocolate, just the required sweet boost to match the vigorous endorphins; handy key rings, water and valuable t-shirt - perfect! So just before I step into my deep warm bath and cosy down for a night by the fire in my pjs, an enormous thank you for making it happen, looking after us all so well and if you haven't run the race yet - make it your happy and joyous intention for 2010. I'll be there. Besos x

In short: A brilliantly executed 10K race, by and with villagers and warmly welcomed guests! From registration to finish line and bath time - a simply memorable run. The challenging hills confirmed the ability of all the starting runners to finish smile intact
In full: This is a special and unique race that only the runner can fully embrace and appreciate. The organisers could be snapped up by Flora, so we are thankful they live close by. The community were out in force to support native and visitor alike with unrelenting voice. Balfron should be well proud of it's proof two years running that they are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to 10K events for either the novice or more experienced runner needing the training to improve on their PB for the next 10K to come. The chips and start and finish were an improvement on last year and the generosity of the goodie bags appreciated. Design, quality and fit of the T-shirt the best yet. Well done Balfron - here's to being the best in Scotland - you are in my books!

In short: Atmosphere as bubbly as the fizz to celebrate at the finish. Run pure onwards and upwards and upwards and onwards! Uniquely Balfron!
In full: A first for Balfron. It simply can't be the last. Brilliantly executed in its organisation. Great encouraging mix of runners from fast and furious to slow and steady; from serious competitors to fun runners and first timers. Sceptism of out and back route unfounded as high fives and spirits shared between runners kept spirits high and feet going! Support from the bovine residents en route and Balfron community as a whole very spirited and welcomed. Route a fun fair ride rollercoaster - best £12 spent so far this year! Simply loved it! Well done Balfron!
