In short: fun 10k with a great friendly atmosphere
In full: enjoyable 10k thats friendly enough for beginners but also a bit of a challenge for the more seasoned runner.

not the most scenic, but was more focused on looking where i was going and not what was around me.

nice tshirt and chip timing a bonus :)

In short: great new race
In full: great new race added this year. very cheap, and the proceeds going to a cracking cause.

very flat so great pb potential, just a couple of narrow points that may slow you down if a lot are bunched together. easy enough for beginners with no hills to worry about.

being around the docks was a nice change from the usual road running views, but with 3 laps the scenery never changed much. again this is good for beginners as they are not going off miles out in a loop so they are always close by to other runners (even if they are on a different lap).

good support, especially at the start with the mile fun run crowd still around. while they dwindled off, still a good support around the finish area with plenty of friendly marhalls offering encouragement.

hopefully this will be the 1st of a new annual event and not a one off.

In short: cheap as chips and great fun
In full: probably the best value race available. even as an unaffiliated runner its only £5. cheaper than most races, and then you get a good quality medal, bottle of water and a sandwich.

really friendly organisers & marshalls. the only letdown for me was what someone mentioned form last year, the start. 200+ runners all straining to hear the guy at the front giving instructions out. please please, get him a megaphone for next year. i was not even halfway towards the back and could not hear most of what was said.

will be back nexxt year

In full: prob not a regular persons pb course, but as a beginner im still improving my times with every run.
killer hills to slow you down, but a great crowd at the start/finish to spur you on and give you an extra kick there.

start area could either have more waves, or somewhere a bit wider to set off from. while the walkers are there for their good casues, when they are 3 or 4 wide in a narrow street it causes problems for all those trying to get around them.

will be back again next year.

In short: hopefully the first of many bolton 5k's
In full: hopefully this run will be on the calendar for year to come.
im not the fastest runner, and often the people at the back get forgotten about, not here. lots of encouragement from the marshalls all the way around and great scenery to take in while plodding along.

couple of hills that may hurt faster people getting a pb, but well worth doing.

In short: killer hill but woth the effort
In full: not the most scenic of routes, but then town routes never are. nice turn out from the locals. not 1000's but enough to keep your head up and legs moving along. will be back next year.
