In short: Rollercoaster Hills
In full: Not that hot this year thankfully. Hills are still a killer and tried to go as fast as possible down the other sides. Encouragement on way round from marshalls and public was great. One downer was water at the finish from a garden hose! and I now have a dodgy tummy :o(
but I will do again :o)

In short: Nice multi surface race round lovely Hackney Marsh
In full: Good turnout again with numbers like last year. The 10km race is three laps of Hackney North Marsh with the race HQ beside the car park off Homerton Road. You can use the changing rooms and toilets there.
Bit of delay at start for late signers on but nothing serious. Race is three laps of Hackney North Marsh over different surfaces. The race starts on grass by the car park but soon its onto a tarmac along a path beside the River Lea well sheltered either side with trees. Very helpful today with the strong winds. At the northern most point its off the path (could have done with a steward here) and onto grass around a pylon and past the North Changing Room (The Cow Shed). Then it's back onto a tarmac path heading south alongside the River Lea Navigation. Strong headwind along here. The last section to the start/finish is on grass along Homerton Road with a goalpost for the final corner. A water station and bottles were avaliable when passing finish on each lap.

Plenty of encouragement on way round from stewards and a medal with bottle of water and Mars bar at the finish. Good race and will do it again. :o)

In short: FAst and Furious
In full: One gripe this year was cars parked right in front of start line and I bet they were runners cars. Surely wouldn't take much to out some cones down early in morning or night before. Funnelling effect at start probably to blame for fallers at the start. Its a good fast competative race but I agree with the comment about sour faced stewards on the course, not a word of encouragement. I said thanks to one steward I passed on the way home after race and the miserable old git blanked me. Twat!

In short: Rollercoster race through lovely country lanes
In full: Did my first Elmore 7 on Saturday. Bit of a soggy start and at the start around long grassed field car park definetly tells you this will be a different race. 1st mile on nice undualting road and then it hits you. You turn off into a rollercoaster of steep ups and down country lanes and with the high hedges sheltering the roads from any breeze it was like a sauna. The Hills were leg sapping I can tell you but downhill bits let you recover just a bit. Last 3 miles back on kinder roads and big crowd to cheer you home for your medal.
Great race well organised, marshalled and and will do next year. Oh and saw Kate Moss at the fair :-)

In short: Fast race, Killer Hill but with long downhill section
In full: Going up Cottenham Park Road to Copse Hill was a killer but thankfully the downhill section on Copse Hill was long enough to recover a bit. Went round faster than I thought I did
