Fantastic organisation, St Johns crew everywhere (you do not always see this in other races,) salt of the earth spectators who saw to our every needs! My only plea - more loos at the start please! But apart from that a big thank you!!
My condolences to Matthew Goods family, my thoughts are with you. Date of review: July 1, 2011

In short: A nice friendly race with bags of atmosphere. In full: One I would definately do again, the only criticism I would have is the contraflow through Appleton Thorn, totally demoralising seeing runners with a good half hour on you, also it created a bottle neck in which you became trapped behind slower runners; would be great if they could change this for next year. In short: see below In full: Didn't run it as they did not inform anyone until after you had paid your entrance fee that you could not use MP3 players which I thought was very sneaky. I suggest that next year they put it on their entry forms. Date of review: December 1, 2008

In short: Challenging but still enjoyable. In full: What sadist thought this route up.... seriously though I could find little to criticise. Plenty of water stations and efficient friendly marshalls, even paramedics on the tops of the hills - very reassuring. It was worth the 150 mile trip to get there, would definately consider doing it again. Date of review: July 3, 2008

In short: Second time that I have run it and enjoyed it as much as last year In full: Wicked wind in places and cold. Forgot how hard the hills were (I train on landscape as flat as a pancake). Same fantastic atmosphere as last year and still enjoyed it despite the fact that I was injured and my time was a lot slower than last year's. I am sure that the watching crowd get inspired to run the following year's as everyone always appear to be enjoying theirselves. Date of review: March 24, 2008

In short: Good marshalling and organised In full: A goody bag at the end would have been nice, would have been willing to pay a little bit extra for it. Date of review: February 12, 2008

In short: Worse half marathon I have run In full: To say it is organised by a running club is suprising as runner's needs are not catered for, lack of toilet facilities near the start line is not good, why not use portakabins like Stafford and the nearby Mablethorpe (superbly organised) half marathon. The sports bag was insulting and did not reward all the hard training that the runners had done in preparation for the race. I would not run this again. Date of review: September 20, 2007
