In short: This race has it all!
In full: Alnwick Harriers - you should be ashamed of yourselves. Not only do you provide great views, cliff top trails, castles, wildlife, fishing villages but some of the best beaches in the country. Combine this with great weather, organisation, marshalling, T shirts, etc. etc.
How can any other Club / Race compete with this. It's unfair!!!!

In short: Need a serious inquiry into the water provision from 14 - 22m!!!
In full: This was my first marathon. Should have been well under 4 hours but accept, due to the heat was not on. Had to walk from 14 - 22m because the water stations were 'dry'. Seeing fellow runners dropping by the road side was disturbing but having marshalls & first aiders screaming at us to give them water to help distressed runners was unbelievable. We could, we hadn't had any for miles. The sight of fellow runners scavenging among discarded bottles trying to find a few drips was disgraceful. Please have an enquiry into this - it must NEVER happen again.
Hope everyone survived.

In short: Much tougher than expected. More than just a bridge.
In full: Certainly a different start to most races and lining up in order of times might help the first mile bunching. Going over the bridge south was the best, I was to tired returning to appreciate the views. Well marshalled, lots of drinks stations and we needed them, it was hot. Oh, by the way, this run was sold as mildy undulating. There were some tough hill to negotiate. I was no where near my pb. Nice touch at the end when organisers handed out bottles of water as you passed the finish line, I needed mine badly. All in all, well worth the trip. I would do it again but perhaps not next year.
Thanks for a good day out!

In short: Well organised and good support. Good start & finish areas. Nice tee shirt,
In full: Odd starting loop with the poor wheelchair guys fighting to get through as they started 10mins quicker. Some long boring straights to cope with, sea front not the prettiest but the course is good & flat and achieved my pb. Well organised & policed and plenty of support. Thanks Redcar, I will return one day.

In short: Give a go - its well worth the trip.
In full: Once off the main road, which was rather busy, the run was very enjoyable. There were a couple of slight inclines but for those who train on hills, nothing to speak of. The water station at 7m didnt worry me as I carried liquid from the start. There was a very fast finish - I was over the line before I realised and had to be stopped by organisers. Marshalls were very good & encouraging. On the whole, well organised, well run, well done!
