In short: Does what it says on the tin!
In full: Very enjoyable race - the poor weather just gave it even more of an 'edge'. The marshals were very encouraging, signing the route very well and the jelly babies after the pond were most welcome! Not a PB race but this is all about getting out and having fun on a Sunday morning with like-minded runners.

Well done to Somer AC for another terrific event and a very swish 10th Anniversary memento!

In short: Love the race, hate the hassle!
In full: Yet again, the fantastic race and tremendous support has been overshadowed by the frankly terrible organisation. I don't really care who's fault it is but it needs to be sorted out, and fast, for next year.

One brief example: after the race we went to get the bus back to the Odd Down Park and Ride only to see a queue from the bus stop snaking along the main road and round almost tot he railway station (several hundred metres). We walked back (a couple of miles) and counted 3, yes 3 buses doing the trip. For what must have been well over 3000 people (car parking spaces x 2 as a very conservative minimum), they were able to move about 200 people at a time. To my mind that makes at least 15 round trips. It's simple maths and logistics! Come on!

I really want this to work properly and am quite happy to stick my head above the parapet with the organisers to offer advice and support. I made the same offer last year and got no response....

In short: 2nd time for me and as good, if not better than last year. Silver Street is still a challenge!

In short: Nice race - shame about the administration!
In full: This was a training session for me prior to FLM and I was informed that those of us doing both could do a 3rd lap - wrong! But I was only told on arrival... Then, delays to the start, announced after I handed my kit in on my personal race-day timetable, the comedy of the 'Glastonbury Experience' of the Runners' Village, the effort to pick my way through the field and then the post-race chaos, documented well by others here.
This could be a fab race but the organisation needs to be gripped right now! Race Director, are you listening?

In short: Great fun - brilliantly efficient organisation and marshalling. Even the hill wasn't too bad.
In full: I'm a recently arrived local and thought this would be a good race to get to know the area and people a bit more. My expectations were exceeded - fantastic organisation (with the half, 10km and a fun run all going on at the same time), well placed marshals and water stops and more locals than I expected out and about to cheer us on. The route was hilly but not overly harsh and there were opportunities to push on the downhill sections. Nice memento of a miner too. Would I race here again? Definitely!
