In short: Undulating but nice course
In full: This is the first year I've done this race and the first half I've done solo with no running buddy or music to help me along so it was a special challenge for me. It was very very windy which made the course hard going in places when the wind was blowing you almost off the road but the undulation was just that, little ups with little downs to even it out.
Really friendly marshals well thought out course, people all seemed friendly and although it was freaking freezing it was a lovely race.
I will aim to b back next year :)

In short: Muddy, wet, nightime and oh God those hills.........fun fun fun!!
In full: An excellent race, with an amazing atmosphere. The course was v hard some hills that had you almost climbing them with your hands and feet, three dunking's up to your knees in water and a whole heap of HUGE horse fences to clamber over. Very very good fun and an excellent acheivement to get round, brilliant fun people as well.
On the down side, i think the route could have been marked a little better, especially as at night when your out on your own running and you can't see anyone in front of you it's a bit hairy! Also for £25 i would have liked a better medal or a goody bag or something. Other than that i'll be back again next year and will even be having a go at the mighty deerstalker in Scotland next year!!!

In short: Nice flat course, good organisation
In full: The course was flat with only a couple of slight slopes to run up. Great potential for personal best. The scenery left a lot to be desired it was very samey and all round boring houses. But there were a lot of people running and the atmosphere within the runners was nice. No goody bag?? Good organisation.

In short: Great but the hill was too long for me!
In full: Excellent race, very well organised and ran smoothly not unbearable waiting around at the start or excessively long waiting around for bags etc.
They could have done with some more loo's ans a few more massage people.
The first part of the run is good but the hill was an energy sapper right in the middle of the race, it seemed to go on forever.

All in all good but not sure if i want to tackle that hill again anytime soon.

In short: It's flat what more can i say!
In full: Great flat race and excellent as my first half marathon. Really enjoyed myself and so pleased that i kept running throughout! Would have been better with more water stations 13.1 miles is a long way to run with only two small water stations. Also would love more toilets at the start as queuing at Tesco's for almost 40 mins to use their smelly loo was not the best start. Toilets on the route would have been excellent and a goody bag at the end with some kind of energizing drink would have made the finish sooo much better. Overall a great race that i enjoyed doing.

In short: First half was lovely, shame about all the dull roads at the end.
In full: What a lovely race, the first half had amazing views and was very peaceful, the second half was slightly less nice with some horrible boring roads. But it was all flat which made it a pleasure to run. Really enjoyed it and would run it again, hopefully next time the whole 16 miles. 8.2 was enough for me this time.

In short: Enjoyable
In full: First time i've done this race and only my second 10k. Thought it was very pretty, although i was shocked to see people walking from the start and it was difficult to dodge the slower runners/walkers. The route was really good for beginers. I enjoyed myself very much. I will probably be back next year.
