In short: Well organised and supported race in a good City
In full: The organisation was great, the support especially in the first half was fantastic. The course was good, the first half had a couple of small climbs, but second half was tough with a headwind in parts and the watersports section dragged on. Not a PB course, but still very good and showed off Nottingham in a very positive light.

In short: Good well organised race over a quick course.
In full: Well organised race, I entered on the day without any issues whatsoever. Good course, not flat, but quick. Not the most scenic of routes, but because it's a quick course you don't have time to look at this. Very enjoyable race.

In short: Good flat course with plenty of PB potential
In full: This was my second Thirsk 10 and really enjoyed it, despite the bitter cold. Race was well marshalled, start not ideal, but given the lane the race starts on this is always going to be difficult. However, this is a minor quibble because the rest of the race and its organisation was really good.

In short: A hard run across the North York Moors
In full: I've waited over 24 hours before writing this, so that the pain in my legs has reduced a bit, so that it didn't skew my comments (though I'm still struggling to walk easily). The race was very well organised and marshalled. All in all it was a very hard challenge as the terrain is difficult at the best of times, but was soggy to say the least in parts this year. This was my first run of this nature and length and I struggled from about 20 miles onwards, but managed to get to the finish, which was my main goal at the start. I would do this again, as it is a real challenge and very different to a road race, in addition, the camaderie is brilliant and the sense of achievement enormous.

In short: Good organisation, good course, PB potential.
In full: The scenery isn't great, but that didn't spoil my enjoyment. The race was very well organised from online booking to the race marshalling. The course was good with a few small hills, but definitely has the potential for a good time.

In short: Excellent race run in a great atmosphere
In full: This was my first marathon and glad that I invested in a Garmin in order not to go off to fast at the downhill start (the race could definitely benefit from pace setters). The organisation was great both for runners and spectators (family came with me and made use of the park and ride facilities). The atmosphere was great throughout the full length of the course. Only quibble is that area leading to the start was very congested and running for a mile or so on a gravel road at mile 18/19 was a bit hard on the legs. However, great race and would definitely do it again.

In short: Wet, not great organisation at the start, but a good fast course.
