In short: The jury's still out!
In full: Still haven't decided if I enjoyed that or not. Not usually a fan of lapped races but the scenery did make up for it (especially the baby calf!) The marshalls were really great cheering everyone on even if they did tell a few porkies ('you're looking good' when I felt cr*p).
Only 2 small grumbles:
1. The road signs for the parking were a little difficult to read. 3/4" letters are a tad small when driving!
2. The water station at 6.5/16.5 miles was chaos. I don't expect to have to wait for water to be poured into a cup.

In short: The heat and humidity added to the challenge.
In full: Fantastic location. Excellent organisation, although I did manage to leave the finish area with my chip still attached to my ankle!

In short: Great race despite the weather.
In full: The rain came just as the starting hooter sounded. Not what I really wanted but was preferable to the heat (glad it wasn't last weekend!).
Not usually a fan of lap races but this is becoming a favourite. Nice and fast with only a couple of slight inclines.
A bit of confusion over the finish times on the computer. Initially they were showing only gun times. I'm sure I wasn't the only one that wanted my chip time instead, afterall, that's what we use for our records otherwise why bother with the chips.
Only other grumble was my carbo gels in my goody bag were out of date.
See you next year!

In short: A once in a lifetime experience.
In full: Fantastic day. Excellent organisation.

The crowds were brilliant. Having my name on my vest was the best thing I did. It was wonderful having strangers cheer me on.

Too hot for me at the end, but can't control the weather!

Got cut up by runners dashing for the drinks stations so many times I lost count. And why do they also have to grab their bottle then stop dead to drink it?

All in all, a wonderful experience, but I won't be doing it again. I prefer a shorter distance.

In short: Cold and wet but I think I enjoyed it!
In full: This was my first half marathon and it was definitely a challenging course. Shame about the weather as I think the views would have been really motivational. Still finished 5 minutes faster than I predicted.
Thought collecting numbers and chips on the day was going to be chaotic but was very impressed with how smooth the organisation was. But why does the T shirt say 2009?
I wasn't affected by the headphones saga as I never wear them, but do think the information could have been in the instruction sheet sent out before the event.
A big thankyou to the very friendly marshalls who could still cheer me on after standing in the cold and wet for over 2 hours. You probably deserve the medals more than us runners!

In short: Nice encouraging, friendly marshals.
In full: First time at this, really enjoyed it. Was taking mile splits but I didn't see a 4 mile marker. Well marshalled, with lots of encouragement. Definitely put it on my calendar for next year.

In short: Tough second half.
In full: A well organised event, with cheerful, friendly marshals who spurred you on. Would have preferred it to be traffic free. My only criticism: the water station at 4K was a bit unorganised, not enough cups of water ready even though there weren't that many runners around me when I went through.

In short: An excellent afternoon, which I think I enjoyed!
In full: Aimed to complete the first lap before the winners completed the course but failed. Was lapped by the first 3 home! Still managed a PB (not difficult as this was only my 3rd 10K).
A wonderful course, well marshalled. Enjoyed running along the seafront. Not so sure about the road humps in the last km though.

In short: Nice event, enjoyed the band.
In full: Nice flat course, well signed and marshalled. Excellent for beginners. Rather hot, so was glad I took my own drink bottle. Hearing the band at about the 9K mark certainly spurred me on to the finish. Results published quickly and times seemed pretty accurate (they gave me 4 secs longer than I'd clocked but then I was a little way back in the field at the start and didn't start my stop watch until I actually reached the start line)

In short: My first 10K and in snow!!
In full: Adverse weather caused me to run too fast at the start trying to get warm. Thankfully, the sun did come out to cheer me over the finish line!
Well marked course and plenty of marshalls so no chance of making a wrong turn.
Will be back next year.
