In short: Best race I've ever done! In full: Absolutely loved this race! Brilliantly organised and the marshalls/volunteers were fantastic. The water stations (or feed stations as someone else has named them!) were awesome!! I'm sure I'd have run a better time if I hadn't spent so long at each one!!! Loved the finish line feed station with lovely fresh fruit - what a great touch!! Brilliant T-shirt (that you would actually run in!) and lots of lovely extras - massages, hog roast, wine etc etc. Really can't fault it! The hot weather made it a very tough race and I posted a "personal worst" but still thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks very much to all involved. Date of review: September 9, 2012

In short: Really enjoyable race - shame about the chaotic car parking at the end In full: Was really looking forward to this race as I love the Great Park. Bit slow to get going as I was stuck in a big pack and spent the first 5 miles trying to work my way forward to a bit of free space! Once I got through, I really enjoyed it. Marshalling and drinks stations were brilliant and very well organised, managed to grab a drink every time I needed one. Good support most of the way round, which was pretty impressive bearing in mind that to get anywhere along the route you had to walk a fair distance. Only real bug bear was the horrendous scrum to get out of the car park. It took well over an hour to get from our parking space to the road and we were only about 10 cars back in the queue to start with! It only improved when some marshalls finally took control and directed each car out. Marshalls should have been there right from the start to stop the chaos happening in the first place. The last thing you want after running 13.1 miles is to sit in the car going nowhere for an hour! Please sort it out for next year! Date of review: September 28, 2010

In short: My home race, not the prettiest but great atmosphere and fabulous support all the way round. Smashed my target time so very pleased! In full: This is a great race for all standards. Mostly flat but some killer long slopes (not really hills) half way through! Dig in and don't look ahead and you'll do fine! As last year, great organisation, fabulous support all along the course from the locals. There were even more water stations than last year and the lovely kids were there again towards the end with jelly babies! My 3rd half marathon and knocked 7 minutes off last year's time and a PB! Will definitely run again next year. Date of review: May 13, 2010
