In short: Mud glorious mud..... And bread pudding
In full: Well after all the rain it was bound to be muddy and indeed it was. I won't repeat what has already been said by others regarding following the directions that are given to you. It is after all a marathon challenge but I found there was a good atmosphere between runners and walkers with everyone being helpful. I didn't get too lost over the 26.5 miles that I ran.

The mud was energy sapping and I like everyone else was caked in mud but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend. The route is very scenic and took me to places in the countryside I would never normally go. Thankfully the sun was out. Thanks to the organisers and the bread pudding and drinks at the checkpoints. Well done FVS and maybe see you next year... If my body can handle

In short: Well organised and friendly atmosphere
In full: Overall I thoroughly enjoyed as did other people with me who ran the race. Well organised and value for money with a surprisingly nice goodie bag. The medal with the diamond jubilee theme was a nice touch. Thanks to the marshalls and organisers.

In short: Well organised race with friendly fellow runners
In full: I enjoyed the course. There were sections that were challenging but looking back on it now it wasn't too undulating. I have read the gripes about the goodie bag and cost. Quite frankly if you you want a better goodie bag then enter one of the bigger marathons and it will cost you approximately double.

Thanks to the friendly spectators at the Rising Sun pub the second time around and the people on the last mile. Your support and cheery banter was welcome. I did feel that the first section of the course (before the split between half and full marathon runners) wasn't as scenic - so those on the half missed out.

I even managed to avoid the stampeding ponies!

In short: Great course and well organised
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed the event. My first 10k in quite a while and my girlfriends 1st (I think she enjoyed it as she's still talking to me). The event isn't over subscribed (which is a bonus) and plenty of room to stretch your legs so theres PB potential.
Very hard to fault. Cheap to enter and very well organised. Scenic course and good atmosphere. Was warm but not too bad. Thanks to all the Lee Valley Park volunteers!

In short: A fast and friendly 10k and nice countryside
In full: Did this race last year in the heat though it didn’t spoil my enjoyment and had no hesitation entering this year.
It's a well organised race and runner numbers were both up in the 10k and fun run so it's popularity is spreading. I achieved my second PB within a week and the Woodhall Spa course is fast and generally flat. Even the cows were out supporting us this year. Stampeding through the fields on their warm up.

Well done to the organisers and just one small gripe, please put the year on the medal ribbon like last year. Will be back

In short: A pleasant run through the streets of London... Almost
In full: I won't harp on about the weather which was bad and has been covered by other reviewers.

The course itself is relatively flat and fast and does go through some nice historical sites. Personally I think the bad weather spurred me on as I achieved a PB knocking off 4 and half minutes from my previous one.

I did it enjoy it but the jury is out whether I would do this particular race again.

In short: Very nice route but a lack of support...
In full: Maybe it was time of day and the lack of publicity but there really wasn't too many people supporting or cheering. Also the lack of directions especially near the finish was a little lax of the organisers.

However having said all that I did enjoy the route and you can quite easily forget you are so near London. The scenery by Hampton Court and the Thames was nice. The heat took a little from my enjoyment of the race resulting in a PW. However I will be back and would reccommend..

In short: Well organised, vocal marshalls and lovely weather
In full: Well organised and overall the race was fun with friendly participants. A very large contingent of club runners but don't let that deter any unattached runners like myself. A fun and enjoyable run. Recommended and well done to Biggleswade AC and the marshalls in funny head gear.

In short: Despite the atrocious weather and flooded roads a very enjoyable race
In full: Luckily the weather didn't spoil my enjoyment of a well organised race. Supportive marshalls throughout and a race which is excellent value. My feet have just about dried out from crossing roads which had turned into fords. All in all excellent preparation from FLM and well done to Bedford Harriers for making it an enjoyable morning.
