In short: WOW !! In full: What a fantastic day, ive only been running a year and had competed in 2 10k's and 1 half marathon prior to this, and i couldnt believe how well organised an event could be with upto 50,000 competetors in it. It was an awesome day, I went up on the Friday night and stayed in campsite close to the finish line, hopped on one of many waiting shuttle run of busses, (no queueing) to near the start line. my only problem was when i filled in the application form, i must have put a slower time than i was capable of or other people put in faster times than they were capable of as i started in zone G and i was passing peolpe literely all the way from start to finish, constantly appologising for knocking into people, i completed it in 1hr 55min still managed to get my pb and according to my garmin i had ran 13.3 miles, but what an atmosphere from the runners to the crowd and the marshalls an absolutley faultless event from the organisation side of it. I would definatly recommend this run to any one as the atmosphere carries you round, what a great site it was too as the red arrows flew over Tyne Bridge very shortly after I had come out. In short: Good race, weather good to us, poor finish and plenty of queueing In full: great 10k run, although the start was slightly delayed i didnt hear a starting pistol or anything all of a sudden we were going. #nice run throught the park and was able to achieve a pb but the finish wasnt the most organised, i didnt appreciated having to queue before the finish line nor having to queue until our number could be written down, thn having to queue again for our t shirts then queue again to exit the park, i know were English and we do queue alot but it doesnt mean we enjoy it! Also, what was the point of listing our estimated finishing positions if theyre not going to be listed, I cant find the finishing results anywhere on the internet. If they charged more for the entry fee then the organisers could perhaps invest in the chip system, the system being used may have been acceptable in the 80's but not this day and age. I would also have liked a medal maybe insead of t shrt. i am now getting a little collection and would like to have increased it by another one. apart from that well done to the organisers and the helpers. In short: Excellent race, thoroughly enjoyed run. In full: As a novice i thought this was an easy to follow and a very well organised run. I have only ran in 2 10k races and this was my first half, although i had trained for it, i smashed 10 minutes off my best training run, The atmosphere was fantastic and the crowds and marshalls were very supportive to everyone all round this great course. I even enjoyed the hills, Defanatly do this one next year. Looking forward to the Great North now in a couple of weeks. :o) Date of review: September 17, 2007

In short: Soooo hot ! good course if you like running in the country side In full: I have only entered one other race prior to this, the Lincoln 10k, and i must say i enjoyed that far more than this one, although the Woodhall 10k is flat i didnt find it any different than my training runs in the country side, as a visitor to Woodhall spa it would have been nice to run around the village, there were plenty of supporters at the end of the race but not alot around the course to keep people motivated, it was extremely hot and i found it a struggle, thank goodness for the drink and sponge stations,it seem to run smoothly and on time, very well done to the organisers.
