In short: for a first time race it was great! Such a good atmosphere In full: What a hoot! The RD put this race on at very very short notice. I take my Santa hat off to him. It was a great fun day in horizontal rain in a near mud bath, dressed as ill fitting Santa. I came second to last, but wouldnt have it anyother way. What fun! I do hope they do it again next year. Maybe a change of route or even venue, but I would do it again even if it didnt change. Great for beginners to up their mileage. Super happy marshalls and mince pies and Mulled Wine to finish. Happy Christmas! (oh and the medal is possibly the prettiest medal of my whole hoard) Date of review: December 15, 2011

In short: A great friendly race. Great for speedy types and beginners alike In full: I love this race. While the streets of Monton and Eccles are not as scenic as the Lakes, the lack of view is more than made up for with the friendliest marshals and the great organisation. It has a lovely enclusive feel to the race especially as it is women only. And it is especially welcoming to total beginners even though the race does attract the racing snakes too.
Great club, great race, well organised. But can we not have a man on the medal next yr for a female only race! ;-) Date of review: November 27, 2011

In short: What a fantastic Tour of a fantastic city! In full: Breathtaking! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed doing Liverpool. I had a few wibbles about doing this over Wilmslow, but I can honestly say I will be back year after year. There were a few teething problems, but faced with uch opposition from the powers that be, Alan Rothwell does a magnificent job. There is a sweeping climb up to the Anglican Catherdral and then its all down hill or flat as you snake through three of the the beautiful parks. Then to come out at mile 10 onto the Mersey, was such an emotional moment for me, I actually had a little cry. The miles have never zipped by so quickly on a run. I absolutely loved it, and to all those who have moaned about the lack of water, carry your own (what did you do on your training runs?)! Date of review: April 1, 2009

In short: Alas no heckling, was quite looking forward to it after reading some of the comments In full: Not a pancake flat course and in some places quite tricky to overtake (wow we were going that fast!) Really welcoming, I esp like the old lady in a house near the start waving from an upstairs window. The finish is a bit of a killer, but good fun. No chance of a sprint finish.
