In short: Another 'Great' South Run!
In full: This event is great fun with the potential for a PB due to its flat course.
The GSR has a carnival atmosphere along with huge crowds to encourage and drive you along. It attracts some of the top runners and back of the field runners alike. You won’t find a better event to inspire those new to running.
OK, it’s a bit on the pricey side but worth doing it as a one off but be warned, you might find it addictive and come back year after year like so many others!

In short: What a very well organised challenge!
In full: The weather, the mud, the hills and the freezing water made this a real tough challenge. This was a fantastic survival event in these conditions through some stunning countryside. The marshals and organisation of Portsmouth Joggers outshone the conditions and showed just how a race should be run. Well done PJC, will be back next year if these aches and pains ever subside!

In short: Do this before the H&S brigade take the fun away and sanitise this event.
In full: Truly a 'fun event'. Put your garmins and ipods away and sample some running camaraderie and sporting banter as you tackle the worse they can legally put you through. Well done to the organisers, good planning, parking and facilities in an ideal location - bring it on!

In short: Its all been said already
In full: On the plus side: there was a race, it was flat PB material and the marshals were great
On the downside: Poor start, no scenery, spectators were not able to be present on the majority of the course and parking a real issue.
Is definitely lost its carnival feeling from the previous year (bring back the old course if you can!) hopefully this won't be another lost race to the bureaucrats!! Keep trying GRR I know you can hold an excellent race.

In short: Absolutely brilliant. A must do!
In full: Thoroughly enjoyable race with great support and organisation. Great for beginners and veterans alike, some debate about the mixed ability pens at the start but it seemed to work well with plenty of passing space. Definitely will be back next year for a PB.

In short: Good mid week race
In full: Locals were friendly (no banjo players!) and good encouragement. 2.5 miles out and 2.5 miles back on the same track is a bit depressing but hey its a run! Worth doing as a training run or a build up to something grander.

In short: Brilliant first time Half Marathon
In full: Great organisation – bag stowage, toilets, registration, changing rooms, parking etc.. Also good that you can register on the day if you are a bit unsure…… On the one-hand it’s a shame that it’s twice round the same course but then again good to see the support a second time. Will definitely be back next year, well done Gosport Road Runners!

In short: Great race & atmosphere, appalling weather but even that didn’t spoil the event
In full: My first major event and ten miler so a PB at 1:21. A bit cramped in places but will definitely do this again next year and aim for 1:15
