In short: One big hill , then mostly flat or down hill ....very well organised
In full: Excellently organised and gets the big hills over and done with in the first quarter with the rest flat or downhill. fantastic encouragement from the organisers and marshalls. great goodie bag and the only race organisers I am aware of that provide a technical T at the end which guarantees for once I will actually wear it ! Very pleased to finally run a course I always used to support as a child . Great effort Handycross Runners!

In short: Hilly and challenging but very scenic
In full: Fantastic race and brilliantly marshalled. made the mistake of wearing off roaders and suffered on the roads and farm tracks as a result. Forced myself to have a brief stop on the ridgeway to take in the scenes - and make sure I was not too far at the back. Thoroughly enjoyable way to start a sunday!

In short: A good first half marathon - easy to follow the throng and nice scenery- bit hiller than I'd like!
In full: Was concerned about this choice for my first half after poor reviews last year. Gather the course has been altered though to reduce the number of hills and were some very pleasant down hills through much of the route. water stations were frequent and lucozade option was great - the young cadet marshals did a great job and were clearly enjoying the day and the same could be said for the venture scouts and cubs helping at the stations. My only gripes were the tiny snack size mars bar at the end and the extremely poor organisation on exiting the car park. Took an hour and ten minutes to reach the main road - if the same no of marshals had assisted with the exit as they did the entry i think it would have been a lot smoother.

In full: Phew! being someone not too keen on hills and definately against running through fields of livestock, on this course I met both instantaneously. A very scenic route , mainly all off road which made for hard work with the rough terrain and steep up and down hill trails but enjoyed the lovely cool breeze and shade of the trees. I knew I was well away from a PB early on so at the 5k mark decided to slow the pace and enjoy. The most interesting 10k completed so far and very well organised and signposted.
