In short: i love the smaller low key events but if all the bigger events were like this i would be converted.
In full: faultless from start to finish.
i echo what people have already said this year but i will add....
i wasnt going to race chester but as my wife got an injury she transferred her number to me. this was done on the day which meant a new number and chip issued to me. all done for free.

In short: if you want a p.b. then this is the race for you
In full: this popular race is serious p.b. potential. very competative up front, especially this year being included in the cheshire champs. excellent parking and good HQ. no frills, no scenery to look at, but on the plus side no traffic or pedesrians get in the way. oh and a new p.b. for me

In short: the going...very soft to boggy
In full: i know tatton park well and knowing the route i was prepared for the mud. maybe the organisors should have warned runners that it could be muddy.
i really enjoyed the race and after recent injuries i feel i'm hitting a bit of form again. i love the middle section of the race at the far reaches of the park where the views across the bollin valley toward manchester airport are stunning.
i would recommend any races at tatton but do bring your trail shoes at anytime of the year.

In short: double marathon are you mad were the comments i have been getting over the last few months but you dont have to run both.
In full: if you run only one of the days this is a perfect first marathon race. pancake flat, freindly, easy and free parking and returning to the start every 6.5 miles for reasurance and encouragement from freinds and family.
having said that it was a personal disaster for me having had a cold and stomach ache over the last week i failed to finish. thanks to everyone for their kind words.

In full: arrived early so missed the congestion. started near the front so missed the congestion. thanks for the advice i was given for the above.
couldnt fault anything. slightly hillier than i expected but o/a it is a p.b. course. i should know as i knocked over 7 mins off my p.b. and finishing in the top 25 it was my best race result by far.

In short: if you like it tough then this is for you
In full: 2nd go at this race and this year managed to run the whole way but it hurt like hell. the first 2.7 miles is flat with one downhill then you cross the river before a short but very steep hill. short break before a long and very steady climb. after that its up and down with a sharp climb just before the finish.
lots of club runners but there's no time limit so all runners welcome. i love these no frills races. thanks to the organisers and the marshalls for another great race.

In full: another year different weather again. i was hoping for a p.b. today but the weather put paid to that. even so i set my best time at high legh.
marshalls excellent, cheerful despite the cold and wind. can't fault anything. look forward to next year.
