In short: Drowned Rat In full: Weather was atrocious, but it was mildly enjoyable to be running in the elements. I don't think the course was measured correct, or I must have inadvertently took a shortcut somewhere. My garmin read .8k short.
Some nasty 180 turns running back onto yourself really doesn't help and the crossing of the metal bridges were H&S concerns.
Missed out on the food laid out at the end too simply because too wet and uncomfortable to be hanging around. Date of review: March 1, 2010

In short: Smashing atmosphere!! In full: Loved the race! The crowd was magnificent, kinda what you expect from the gerodie public. Didn't expect the weather to be so hot, the big crowd made it even hotter!
I don't understand those who complain about the cost of the race. They know full well how much it cost prior to entering so why bother complaining afterwards? No one pointed a gun to your head to enter!? If you think it's too expensive then don't do it again. There are many more who missed out on the ballot would welcome the place you took!
For those who are after pbs, they should stick to the smaller races and stop your grumble cos it's simply annoying!
I know i will be back next year providing i can get a place.

In short: Another good organised run in the heat...... In full: A great organised run as usual, this is my second time running this race and i can safely say i'll be back next year (providing they don't get too ambitious and become over subscribed). However, the parking situation was a bit of a joke, i'm sure some people missed the start.
The hill after the 4k mark was a challenge in the heat but nice to have it at that distance any later than that and many runners would probably struggle.
The goody bag was generous, good value for money considering the entry fee includes the nice techical t. Did any find that the run didn't measure out 10k? My garmin read just over 9.5k - same issue as last year. Date of review: June 14, 2009

In short: Bad organisation In full: Overall, poor organisation of the race meant I spent 90% of the time dodging slower runners and getting plenty of elbows for my troubles. They really need to sort out the start with expected finish times, and chip timing is a must! Very expensive race for very little in return. To top it off, got told off by a marshall for sprint finish?!?! totally defeat the encouragement given by the splendid crowd. The only high point of the race was running on the pavement down embankment without traffic! Date of review: July 6, 2008
