In short: Great, well-organised race, as always
In full: Great experience from start to finish. Being able to collect the race T-shirt in advance meant I could wear it for the race and getting the official chip time soon after finishing meant I could get my PB time engraved on the splendid 30th anniversary medal. I used the pacers for the first time in this race and they did an amazing job of getting people round the course at appropriate speeds. Thank you

In short: Brilliant race
In full: My local half-marathon, so a course I know well. The hills always seem easier with the race atmosphere than on lone training runs. The weather was ideal, unlike a fortnight ago when I ended the course with icicles on my face!
Organisation was flawless with plenty of helpful and enthusiastic marshalls. Thanks for agreat race.

In short: Great first event by organisers
In full: Excellent pre-race information and on-the-day organisation.

This was my 8th half marathon and the support on route was the best I've experienced.

I'd trained for a 1:40 finish, and all was going well, but then the hills and the heat caused my body to rebel during the 17th km and thereafter every incline (of which there were many) was a great struggle. So I ended up a little miserable, but still very appreciative of the way the race was organised.

Mainly traffic free, which is a great accomplishment. With runners going past at least some of the water stations in both directions, there seemed plenty of opportunuties to stay topped up (unless you were right near back it seems, which must have been very disheartening).

In short: Superbly-organised race with lots for the family to do
In full: Excellent organisation from the moment you arrive on site until it's time to leave at the end of the day. The wave-system worked well and ran like clockwork. Great marshalls. Bouncy castle and climbing wall kept the children happy. Bit of a climb towards the end, but a great day and I'm looking forward to next year.

In short: Good flattish race with loads of great marshalls
In full: Was delighted to be able to do this race again after it clashing with my holidays for the last 2 years.
Atmosphere was great before the race, except in the toilet queues, which were moving very slowly.
It would have been nice if the expected finish time signs had been in place earlier - this might have stopped a group of much slower runners clustering together in front of me near the start.
The course was great, but not as flat as I'd remembered. This was probably because I used up too much energy in the first half though and so felt every little incline in the second half. But compared with TW, yes, I'd say flat.
There were great and plentiful marshals and water-helpers along the route.
It was nice to be announced by name, coming across the finish line, but as others have said, a little frustrating to have to queue for so long to receive the goody bag and fruit. I found two bottles of water and two sets of flyers in mine, so hope this wasn't at the expense of someone else.
I left very sore, but delighted with a PB. Thanks

In short: Great organisation - marshals and signs everywhere
In full: This my first time here, so was very grateful for all the pre-race information about parking and the start location.

I was impressed with the sheer number of marshals and signs (contrasts with my last race where lots of us were allowed to go the wrong way!). Lots of encouragement along the way from both marshals and spectators, which was a help. The guy with the mic seemed to pop up all over the place, which added to atmosphere from early in the morning, all the way through the event.

I hadn't been sure what to expect by "undulating" but the hills all seemed manageable and you could pretty much tell how long they'd last for (unlike the monster in the middle of TW Half).

I run for the race and not the goody bag, however, yes it was disappointing not to get an anniversary T-shirt, especially as it seems there was a T-shirt last year.

But to end on a high (well for me anyway), I knocked 9.5 minutes off my PB, so was delighted with the event!

In short: Good race through hilly forest
In full: Very enjoyable race, despite being tough going for much of the last third. A seven-minute delay at the start and a very minor delay at both water stations were the only issues to sort out for next year, but friendly marshals and organisers made the overall race experience very enjoyable.
