In short: Well organised, friendly, great atmosphere, picturesque scenery
In full: Thank you to all involved - the race was so friendly and well organised, with fantastic local support. Plenty of water stations & energy drinks too if you want them, and handy that the water is in bottles. Easterly headwind for the last 4 miles was taxing, more so than the gradual climb up Waterworks Valley.

In short: Pretty, friendly, fun
In full: I really enjoyed this race, which I ran for the first time this year - thanks to all the marshals and organisers for making it such fun. The race passes through picture postcard villages and along some muddy tracks, for nearer 11k than 10, I think! Plenty of uphill stretches but none of them goes on for too long. I loved the downhill through the fields towards the river bank, and even the extra muddy path along the bank (despite falling over into a clump of stinging nettles).

In short: Glorious scenery, hard work
In full: This was my favourite ever run, but I think the hardest race I have done in 3 1/2 years of running! The scenery was spectacular and the course well-marshalled. Plenty of friendly support along the way, just where it was needed (very dedicated of people to walk up all those hills). Thanks to the organiser, who kindly sorted out my mislaid number two days beforehand.

In short: Swift and scenic
In full: Thanks for a smoothly organised, friendly race - lucky with the weather too. Runners at the back of the field had to negotiate their way through meandering crowds. Would it be worth tapes/barriers to encourage non-runners and those already finished to keep off the course?

In full: Thanks to the organisers, marshals and other volunteers - I really enjoyed the race. Thanks also for trying to ban MP3 players.

In short: Smoothly organised, rural pretty course
In full: First time at this race, which I really enjoyed despite the headwinds. Lovely scenery, sufficient hills, cheerful marshalls. Thanks to the official on the bike who encouraged me through my horrible stitch at 8 miles. Quiet roads, but there were one or two kamikaze cyclists.

In short: Hilly, muddy, wet, friendly
In full: Many thanks to the organisers, volunteers and cheerful marshalls. This was my second year - I enjoyed it even more this time, especially the rope ladders! It was great to see some familiar faces from last year and the atmosphere was friendly all round. Definitely worth the long drive, and I'm looking forward to next year.

In short: Hard work, friendly, well organised
In full: Thanks for an enjoyable race, well organised and marshalled. I was inwardly complaining at that final hill (especially near the top), but it didn't seem as bad as last year and the weather was so much better. The start and finish through the avenue of trees is splendid and I'd recommend this as a friendly, suitably challenging small race to anyone who hasn't done it. I liked the mug as a memento. Thank you to the maker of the courgette cake.
