In short: Excellent Organisation and a decent goody bag
In full: Would be fast course if not for the 1-1.5 mile slog up hill just before mile 4 and the hill in the last mile (obviously!). In saying that the hills didn't exactly kill you either. Great facilities and goody bag, excellent organisation. Some parts were a little frustrating with cars parked over footpath, therefore forcing you onto the road. At least it was a Sunday morning so not too much traffic but still a little dangerous. Pb for me but then it was my first 10 mile race! Was a little hard to find the venue (not sure if instructions were incorrect or because we came from a different direction?) but then we were early so no panic.

In short: 3 laps around a park
In full: Good organisation and being a 10k it's the kind of race you can just turn up for on the day. Being 3 laps meant that on bits of the 2nd lap and the 3rd lap there were lots of people to pass and this wasn't always easy as sometimes quite narrow paths or dodgy ground with puddles and holes to avoid. First 10k and overall was good so probably be back next year to do the series.

In short: Up and down we go
In full: Lots of ups and downs in this one although not too big so doesn't kill ya. The lake was nice enough to run around although the public got in the way at times, as did the geese! Track finish is good, bus to and from carpark is good even though I got train so had to walk 15 mins to and from the carpark. Probably do it again as not too difficult to get to from London.

In short: Excellent first half but second half not as good
In full: I really enjoyed the first half of the marathon as there were loads of people around giving good support. The second half was a lot quieter with some dodgy surfaces to run on and the gusty wind for the last 5-6 miles didn't help either. Way too many people were not in the correct finish time at the start so had to pass loads of slower people. Love the medal. Being my first marathon I will probably be back next year to improve my time. I would recommend the half 100% and the full aint too bad either if there was no wind!
