In short: Fantastic In full: Wonderfully well organised, with the most fabulous marshalls offering unstinting support all around the most beautiful course. Couldn't fault the experience. Well done Brathay. Date of review: May 23, 2011

In short: Wet sand, icy roads, blue skies, shiny pier and much fun. In full: As a first timer I enjoyed this event immensely as it attracts plenty of club runners, making it competitive, but also loads in fancy dress out for a good laugh. Although it was harder going that I thought it would be (particularly the last bit), running on the sand made a refreshing change for us Midlanders and the ice was a bit unavoidable in the current arctic blast. In terms of the positives, the offer of a creche facility was fantastic (and I sincerely wish other races had a similar option on offer - well done Weston), the organisation was excellent with the race HQ being well situated and laid out. The mince pie was also a welcome treat at the end. The few minor gripes centre on the inability to close roads/pavements to traffic, which lead to some problems navigating between buggies on one side and speeding cars on the other, and the ice - both of which I dare say the organisers can do little about. Overall though, well done Weston - as long as the child care is still on offer, I'll be back next year. Date of review: December 6, 2010

In short: A thoroughly enjoyable cross country romp through a beautiful landscape In full: Well done to the Black Pears for coming up with an interesting and welcome addition to the running calendar - long may it continue. It was an absolute pleasure to romp through the muddy, puddley trails of Croome Park on a chilly November morning and I can't think of a better way to spend time once out from under the duvet! From parking to complimentary tea afterwards the organisation was smooth, and although there will inevitably be a few learning points, there was certainly nothing obvious to spoil enjoyment of the event - a big and hearty well done to all involved. See you there next year. Date of review: November 9, 2010

In short: Top class. In full: Well done to all at Evesham Vale Running Club for staging a genuinely top class event which many other, larger races could learn heaps from. The course is fast and generally flat, showing off the best of the town and river whilst the organisation was superb, with the most enthusiastic and encouraging marshalls I've encountered. A big pat on the back for everyone involved - you even managed to arrange glorious sunshine...... but next year could you turn down the temperature, just a degree or two..... In short: Fab fun in the mud. In full: After all those tarmac thumping 10k's this one is a real shot in the arm. The week's rain beforehand made it just perfect, anything else wouldn't have been suicide, and the organisation is sufficiently relaxed to be a snub of the nose to health and safety gestapo. Well done all involved. Date of review: November 16, 2009

In short: Interesting course, friendly support, nicely organised. In full: Was unsure what to expect, but the course - full of loops and twirls was interesting and tough enough to make it a challenge, whilst there were just enough marshalls to make it work and the support at half way and the finish was great. Well worth turning out for and plenty of bananas at the end. Date of review: September 7, 2009

In short: Excellent organisation, plenty of water on a hot day and well-marshalled. In full: First time at this race and enjoyed it... even if the deadly incline from about 11.5 to 13 killed off any hope of a PB. Well done to the clowns (literally) at the final water station for making me smile, if only I'd known why you were laughing so hard! Thanks to the Dorset Doddlers for putting on such a first class event. Date of review: August 3, 2009

In short: Pleasant, pleasurable, pretty yet potentially painful In full: A lovely romp through the worcestershire countryside in near perfect weather. What better way to spend a Sunday morning? Gentle enough to spur you on, but challenging enough to feel some burn and although a lack of mud certainly made for improved times this year, the lumpy bumpy fields and pothole ridden tracks kept you literally on your toes. I'll be back. Date of review: April 6, 2009

In short: Stunning, challenging and great fun In full: This was my first attempt at a multi-terrain race and I chose a great one to kick off with - beautiful scenery was helped by a gloriouosly sunny and still day and the organisation was top notch. The course was very challenging for someone stepping up from 10k races on the flat but plunging into ankle deep mud was great fun and the final hill made the support at the end all the sweeter. Certainly one I'd do again and its given me a real desire to stick to off road events in the future. Date of review: February 11, 2008
