In short: Possible PB but organisation was awful from start to finish
In full: Information was sparse. The HUb was disappionted again no XL shirts available see later note. At start felt the toilet situation was ok.
An annoucenment was made at 9.45(when the baggage lorries were leaving) that runners could not use MP3 players and runners would be disqualified! there was no mention in the instructions and all the way around thought about it yet loads of runners did have them. The course would be very tough without as it was difficult for supporters to access all points-again no instructions.
the course had PB potential but the surface was rough.
drink staions wer ok and just enough.
Hate running round a cone and we had to do twice- run out of ideas where to go?
finish was chaotic. supporters could not see you. Not enough photographers so queues and then the chaos of getting a goody bar(sorry what is the point of reaffirming lotion of a dove wipe or an andrex wipe!) Then no XL shirts and I finshed fairly quickly! yet saw several runners with 2/3 t-shirts in their hands.
how can you expect runners(100s) to squeeze through a 1m gap . the screen in the reunion area was showing the t-festival and not the finish of the race.
Fortunately my wife was able to get to me and we walked to the outskirts of musslebourgh to get a bus.
A disppionting experince and one I will not repeat

In short: Very enjoyable. great medaal and t-shirt!
In full: The start is too small for the number of runners. but once out the dock able to pick up pace. water stations good particularly mile3!
a good race with the potential of a PB but not for me this year.
Cracking medal and bright orange T-shirt.

In short: A challenge particularly in the heat!
In full: Found it a real challenge with the heat. But organisation of water stops was good however, the finish was abit of free for all, with the collection of goody bag, drinks and T-shirt. Will definitely run again just to support the community. But not many races have 'free' transport to the evnt with merseyrail. Overall agood job done.
