In short: Fantastic to be back
In full: Was really pleased when the National Trust re-launched this race and it seemed to run like they had organised it for years. Much better course with road section removed. Much better finish with things for all ages to do. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty and friendly marshalls and it really didn't seem to matter if you were fast or slow.Great to get cake at the end. I hope this run continues for many years yet as it is defo one of my favorites.

In short: Hope its back again in 2012
In full: Hopefully this race will become a yearly event. Plenty of smiling marshalls, good flat course well marked out and chip timing. Although not traffic free it was never a problem.
The wind was fierce for the first 5k but glad rain held off.
Well done to all those who put the time and effort into organising this new event. Compared to the other 10K in Southport I think this is a better course (no loops) and a better price.
Will be back next year

In short: faultless organisation and all round a great race
In full: Park and ride worked well with no waits at either end. The drink stations were plentyful and the young people 'manning' the stations were encouraging and cheery. Marshals helpful. Thanks to everyone involved for a great day.

In short: Excellent run for all regardless of ability.
In full: I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly attitude of the organisers and their marshalls. As others have said it was very hard running in the heat but no one can control that and it shouldnt overshadow what was a very well organsised event and those concerned should be congratulated. Good luck to them for future events and it was all for a very worthy cause.

In short: Disgraceful organisation but fantastic support from fellow runners and local supporterse
In full: This is the sixth marathon I have completed but by far the WORST.
The organisers could do nothing about the sunshine but to have NO drinks for long periods of the race is UNACCEPTABLE and DANGEROUS. At the start of the race they emphasied the need to keep hydrated which is a joke. Thank goodness for the local residents and fellow runners who shared any 'scraps' of drink they had (and hosepipes).
The marshalls could do nothing but apologise and direct us to a toilet block from which runners were having to drink from taps! Others were searching the roadside for any drink left in bottles. It was an embrassment. If the orgainsiers didn't want 'slower' runners (I was under 5 hrs) they should have made it clear. When we were all told there was no water and no chance of any for miles everyone seemed to slow down - it was a case of self preservation. The orgainisers should be ashamed. Perhaps some one should make them run 26.2 miles in the sun without fluids. It was luck NOT judgement that no one died.

In short: Fantastic event
In full: Organisation as ever spot on. The volunteers (young and old) were fantastic and encouraging. Didn't care it was a bit longer than advertised. Jelly beans and flushing toilets an added bonus!
