In short: Capped off a thoroughly s**t weekend after the rugby!!
In full: This was my 4th year running this 1/2. I don't often get irrate about races but I was really disappointed with the course. I think we all know why the route was changed (again!!) - to minimise disruption to the city centre and mayber save costs re road closures? Also was it long? My Garmin clocked 13.2 and I'm sure I took a direct route. After last years fiasco did they overcompensate this year? I know with the increase in the size of the field this year they would have been worried about bottlenecks but why not go for a 'waved' start? I think the 2010 route was far better! Finally thanks to all the supporters who were great and uplifting

In short: Such a shame!!!
In full: At the end of the day I don't think anything else matters apart from two things: 1. the course was short and 2. the course was too narrow for 11,000 runners (unless you were one of the elites!). I'm proud to be Welsh but sometimes we get it oh so wrong. I think it was Rhodri Morgan who said that Cardiff could put itself forward for the World Half Marathon Champs and that the Cardiff Half was second only to GNR - dream on Rhodri. If the race was shortened because of an obstruction was it an immovable obstruction? if yes then I presume it was there when they measured the course.

Any positives? Great support from crowds and all the helpers

In short: 1st 'mass event' therefore nothing to compare to but really enjoed with one or two exceptions
In full: negatives - tight in places, people with ipods/mp3 (enough said), first water station congested
positives - seemed a fast course for pb hunters, good crowds and scenery,
