In short: Very Well Organised and Friendly Race In full: I was very impressed by the whole event, a friendly, well organised race with some fantastic community input from local groups including the Air Cadets and Rotary Club to name a few. 1) Got my number on the day - excellent 2) Secure Bags - Bit confusing but OK 3) Marshalls - Fantastic 4) Drinks stations - everyone stop whinging about the cups, there were plenty of drink stations you didn't need bottles. 5) Parking - Brilliant Well done all of you, we could learn a lot from you Date of review: April 17, 2012

In short: Inaugural year: This has potential of being a gem In full: If you are looking for a friendly, low key event, I think Ian has cracked it. I expect that every inaugural event will have a few problems as this one did but next year it will be brilliant. The first 15 miles was flawless, great views showing the greener, unseen side of Croydon however the second 15 was something to be desired as the instructions were unclear and I eventually added 3 miles to my route...at one point I was leading it! I know Ian is an experienced ultrarunner and with a few minor changes to the format will make this a great race, I enjoyed this run and know with a few more marshalls and signs will make this a welcome event to the South East. In short: One for the brave In full: First track ultra but not short circuit multi-lap race. As usual Pam and her team created a fantastic event which went like clockwork. The lap counters did an outstanding job. The other competitors were brilliant. Date of review: April 11, 2010

In short: A great ultra In full: This is definitely a race of two halves, the hilly cross country first half with a flat canal run in the latter.
Organisation was great, everything was were it was supposed to be.
Only small grumble were the maps that appeared to be on waterproof card but soon turned to a wet mess by mile 15 and were different scales!
Otherwise great race well done to the organisers and check point staff who were really brilliant. Date of review: January 17, 2010

In short: BRILLIANT! In full: This was my second year and I can honestly say that this challenge has all the potential of being a classic. Last year it was ice but this year it was mud, mud, glorious mud. The organisers did a fantastic job with some great marshalls and checkpoints....see you next year. Date of review: December 8, 2009

In short: Outstanding..downland running at its best In full: I can safely say that this is one of the most outstanding races I have done in recent years. The organisation was second to none, the support staff were brilliant.
To be able to organise support people, equipment and arrange a race over 56-57 miles and make it appear so smooth and efficient to us runners was a real bonus.
Guys you are the best, I am wearing my L2B t-shirt with pride with a feeling of disbelief that after 9 months of training it is all over. Date of review: September 20, 2009

In short: Great Fun as all fun runs should be In full: This is one of those little gems of a race that doesn't appear on a lot of race calendars but don't underestimate it, it was brilliant.
The course was a bit of a toughy for both experienced and new runners to the sport and well worth the challenge. I loved the friendly and relaxed air about the race and the really helpful marshalls with a multitude of well stocked and equipped water stations (special thanks to the station in Lynwood Grove whose vaseline did me a great service). The event in the school grounds afterwards was lovely and had a real village green feel about it with bouncy castles, children running the track with a certificate for them after and some scrumptious cakes and tea. Well done all, see you all next year to see if I can get a marathon PB again :-) Date of review: May 10, 2009

In short: BRILLIANT In full: This is one of my all time favourite runs, probably because it put me higher up in the ultra run distance but the guys who organised this were pure professionals.
The marshalls and checkpoints were brilliant, they couldn't do enough to help you. Thanks to the lady at mile 25 checkpoint who made it her business to make sure my shoe rub was sorted. Date of review: April 11, 2009

In short: Outstanding - one for the calendar In full: What can I say, an absolutely brilliant trail race. It had everything mud, chalk trails, more mud, hills, ice, water, more mud and more hills. The organisation was brilliant with an informative pre-race brief with a very efficient registration. Race started exactly on time and we were directed around the course with very friendly and supportive marshalls. I think the route directed us superbly to the muddiest and wettest areas in and around Arundel with not a dry place to be seen :-) Absolutely hilarious through the marshes never had to break 1/4 inch ice with my heels before! In all a brilliant race, may other organisers take heed, keep it simple, it really does work, as did this race, thank you. Date of review: December 7, 2008

In short: Hard as nails! In full: Everything I expected plus more! The weather was fantastic, perfect for this type of run. The marshalls were great but could have done with another drinks station earlier on, say 4 miles. The Sisters were the sting in tail of this glorious race. Date of review: October 25, 2008
