In short: Great race ,one massive hill ,
In full: Love this race series ,no spectators but great comradely between the runners.Great to have chip timing at such a small event .The hill is a real challenge , but once completed this is a most enjoyable race. And a packet of sausages to all competitors at the finish.Looking forward to completing all five races in the series.

In short: flat course ,pb potential
In full: Well organised event .Mixture of terrain ,terrential rain last few days made it muddy in parts which slowed it down a bit . Definitly worth doing ,and real PB potential in better conditions.Nice medal.

In short: room for improvement in the organisation but brilliant local support
In full: Considering bad reviews in previous years ,I was pleasently surprised . The course itself gives you the feel that they want to get you out of the city ASAP. The local people who come out to support are the best anywhere, and their support with hose pipes and pop up water stations was fantastic . Thankyou Edinburgh

In short: total let down
In full: I have just read the comments by the poor guy who got disqualified after winning the race. My experience today was not as bad as that .I checked the race website for all details for this race . They were quite clear ,if you were there by 10.30 you could enter on the day .The instructions were to go the back route in to the colledge ,which I followed . I lost several minutes due to another event that was on at the colledge , which meant that I came across several groups of horses on the single track lane to the event ,and then due to the othere event taking place I had some trouble parking . Hands up I realise I was late but I walked up to registration ,fully ready to run at 10.31. The guy there ,removed the registration forms and said that I was too late . His co workers looked shocked and bemused ,It just seemed that the guy was on a power trip ! He went off to start the kids race ,and he looked like he could,nt wait to use his loud speaker to bark his instructions out to a handful of kids and parents . I left before the start of the main event but it does not surprise me one bit that it was such a farce ,especially if the same person was organising the start. Its a shame because I have entered other races organised by these people and they have been ok

In short: poorly organised and not as advertised
In full: This is an ideal race for people new to running, with multiple traffic free laps and a virtually flat course. For the £14 entry free I would have expected to receive my running number by post . It was a pity that the race could not start in the athlectics stadium as this would have been a little less boring and also would have eased congestion at the start.
No mileage markers either .Would do again however and if it starts in the athletic stadium next year I am sure this is a race with Pb potential .
