In short: Enjoyable and interesting In full: A romp through Sandown Park. Was interesting to go through the stables, parade green and the course itself. I didn't think it would be so tight in places, either having to follow runners or spinning round turning circles which will prevent great times on this race. I was a little confused about the length of course as it seemed to come up a little short of 10km but that might just be my Garmin. Overall, I enjoyed it, helped with the Running Show going on in the grounds! Date of review: November 26, 2012

In short: A good mid week race In full: I enjoyed myself. Nice park to run in with what seemed to be a friendly crowd. Mild irritation at the start of the race as I couldn't hear what was being said but I don't think I missed anything. Reasonable medal at the end. As for the race itself, you start in the park but quickly head out onto roads and lanes. Marshalls did a great job looking after the racers and the traffic so thank you! I only remember one hill of note. The last km is back in the park and a good last stretch to use up the last of your energy. Date of review: July 5, 2012

In short: Enjoyable but expensive In full: The attraction for me was to run round the TG race track and the proximity to where I live. That said, I still managed to get lost and had to come in the 'wrong' gate. I missed the turn off so can't really blame anyone but myself. The race itself was fine, interesting enough. I thought the end of the 10 mile was a little amateurish with one water container and an over zealous marshall on chocolate duties. I would do the 20 mile next time but expensive race for what you got. Date of review: September 9, 2011

In short: 2009 Mug! In full: Really enjoyed the race and it was a well organised day. The Hogs Back is steady rather than steep and for that, I was thankful. The only down side was the goody bag. I was disappointed with the mug from last year. While I think the cinema concession is a reasonably nice touch, you would have thought they would be able to organise a 20010 prize. Rant over......... In short: Enjoyable but wasn't prepared for dogs In full: I have read the reviews with interest. I was taken aback when the first dog runner went past me but in the main, the owners were polite and considerate. I would have liked to have been told first about them and agree that they could have started off before the main field. A little thrown when I went past 10km marker and had to keep running - for a second, i thought I had made a dreadful mistake and would have to keep running! Overall, a good race Date of review: November 8, 2010

In short: Excellent race In full: really enjoyed this race, it is on the army vehicle training course so it is muddy, wet and challenging in places. Starting with the 5km run, trying to keep your shoes dry turns into quite a hard slog on the bike for 2 x 10km loops with an evil, cold and long water course that you have to wade through. Then back on the run for the last 5km. Really enjoyed the day, excellently organised Date of review: October 26, 2010

In short: Must remember to read instructions about hills In full: Enjoyed it - would have liked some signs at the start to show people where toilets where (that said, there is a dirty great big leisure centre that I managed to miss!) Nice, challenging course with some good hills that I had not prepared for. Really great stewards at this race and a big thanks to all of them. Good bag at the end and a great way to spend Sunday morning Date of review: September 5, 2010

In short: Good stewarding, great weather, not sure about the bag In full: Apprehensive after reading reviews from previous years but a nice challenging race. Hills probably weren't as bad as I thought. A bit dicey on the roads at times but I thought the marshalls were some of the best I have known running locally so thanks and well done I do like my medals so a bit disappointed with the bag Date of review: January 17, 2010
