In short: Perfect day for it!
In full: Big thanks to all involved, esp some of the marshalls who were getting flak from drivers - I saw 2 incidents, so there must have been many others. The race wouldn't exist without you, so thanks for giving up your time.

The course was a bit twisty turny at times I thought, for pure speed, but provided some variety of terrain to break things up.
This was my first 'road' marathon, having done a couple of off road ultras and the Clarendon Mar. last year, and ran a PB of 3:25.
The mile markers for lap 2 on the loop South of Abingdon were a bit demoralising first time round, but the marshalls with souped up ghetto blasters were most welcome! Finishing in the stadium was a nice touch that my children enjoyed too.
Not my fave race ever, but a good one for first-timers and those chasing a PB.

In short: Adversity breeds cameraderie...
In full: If you haven't done some hill work in training, you'll know about it between 7 & 9 miles... Great organisation. Plenty of water & sponges on course (and did we need it!). Thanks to the man with the garden- hose shower too. Nice local feel & friendly atmosphere. Train hard, but forget the PB though!

In short: Wet & wild in wintery Widsor...
In full: I don't normally comment on web forums, but there are too many people moaning about this event for my liking... I thought the morning was very well organised. Chip & details arrived in plenty of time, activities were laid on FOC for the children, plenty of parking if you arrived early enough, use of the rowing clubhouse for dry changing, clean toilets and a cafe! You only need to look at a map to find this venue - don't whine about a lack of signposts! Other events were cancelled because of the weather, but the organisers and marshalls turned out because we were running for a great cause. Be philosophical when the weather turns bad - enjoy the company of people who are there for the same reason as you & give the marshalls a thumbs up as you run past! Enough said. I knocked 5 mins off my 10k PB & my kids enjoyed the 2k, so thanks everyone concerned.
