In short: Reply regarding chip timing from Race Director In full: hi. I have seen one or more comments regarding problems we had with the chip timing. it is true we had an unexpectedly high number of chip read failures which affected the time it has taken to turn round fully accurate finish results. I can only apologise for this. the root cause was interference caused by a radio operator who, whilst relaying messages to race officials, stood close enough to the timing mats to cause issues. had I known this would have been an issue rest assured he would have been banished from the finish area all together. our friends at fullonsport have gone through the backup video footage of the finish line and I believe most corrections are now made. if you're still experiencing an issue please email me - firstname.lastname@example.org many thanks. In short: An excellent race. In full: My third occasion of entering this event.Without a doubt a big challenge which makes it so very satisfying to complete the course. I ran as a group of three and on behalf of us all a really big 'thank you' to the marshals who were all helpful and understanding despite some having to wait a long time at their point. Lovely countryside and well organised. Thank you Marlborough for a very rewarding yet tiring day. Date of review: May 14, 2013
In short: A beautiful scenic well organised event. In full: My second year of entering this event.(33 miles). For me it is very challenging and there is a great sense of achievement in finishing. The outstanding views, superb organisation, supportive and caring marshals make it a special day. The instructions are easy to understand and accurate and I was pleased that there were some compass bearings included. I ran with two other members of my club (who ran with me last year)and our goal was to finish within the official finish time. We finished in 7hrs 45 mins which was an hour and a half faster than last year so we were very pleased with ourselves and also for the organisers who kindly waited for us at the finish last year. (We didn't take a picnic with us last year! - we just learnt from our experience). Thanks also to four of our club supporters who gave encouragement not only to ourselves but also to all the other runners.
In full: Agree with RW Race Report. A speedy course with very good PB potential if weather conditions right. Good facilities at Race HQ. Marshalling as usual was excellent and signage was brilliant. Date of review: June 18, 2009
