In short: Good race. Atrocious weather.
In full: Nice park setting and well organised. Great race. Good to get a mug as a memento rathe than the usual t-shirt. The torrential rain made it interesting. And i mean torrential. Most of the race in this weather. Rivers of water, huge puddles, waterlogged terrain. I guess you could look at it as a negative, but i just think it makes it more memorable.

In short: Super Leeds! A class act.
In full: Did this as a prep for Edinburgh Marathon in 2 weeks. Decided to go and try to beat my PB, which i did. 1:32:01 (5m 30s inside my previous PB). Excellent atmosphere, support and organisation. A great race for runners of all abilities. Great t-shirt/goody bag too.

In short: Fast 'out and back' course with strong PB potential.
In full: Was tougher on the outward 5k than i expected because of the fairly strong winds. But despite this, it was a well organised traffic-free course. Not the most beginer friendly race i think. Getting closer to a sub 40 mins 10k.

In short: High PB potential
In full: A fast and well organised race. Don't turn up for the scenery though - there is non. A little early with the start time though.

In short: Glorious November weather and a challenging course.
In full: This is the first attempt at my home town race and did a pleasing PB at 42:58. Good scenery/weather and encouraging marshalls made for a pleasant race. I reckon the hilly parts will have taken some beginers by surprise though.

In short: Very pleasant in general. Nice scenery.
In full: My first full marathon so nothing to compare it to.

POSITIVES: Was well organised at the start/finish line, lots of room to warm up, marshalls were excellent along the entire route, nice route through scenic villages.

NEGATIVES: Poor city centre support, poorly spaced watering stations, cups of water rather than bottles (try drinking from a plastic fup while running!).

A very good starting point for any marathon virgin.

In short: Well organised & pleasant surroundings.
In full: Only my second ever race (first one being the Sheffield Half Marathon). A little tougher than i expected (in places), but that's because i went at a much quicker pace than i am used to in training. Very well organised in general, though the guy at the start line would have benefitted from using a megaphone.
