In short: My first knacker cracker and the toughest race I've ever done but still loved it.
In full: Very tough. But it's an institution. Brilliant costumes and some good banter. Impossible to run the whole way because it's too steep and on this occasion dangerously slippery too. Very enjoyable though. Strongly recommended to chase away the New year's day hangover.

In short: I love this race
In full: Ashtead Common is a fabulous place for a 10K and the organisation is excellent. I quite liked the green tinge this year too.

In short: An excellent race in previous years, but now even better - very friendly, very enjoyable, very well organised and I'll definitely be back next year.
In full: The Ashtead 10K is increasingly becoming the gold standard for 10Ks in the area. Smaller and friendlier than some others, it is nevertheless a challenging run over the deceptive ups and downs of Ashtead Common. If you can forgive the occasional homicidal tree root, it's a beautiful course through dappled semi-shade. This year's route also neatly avoided the gates and narrow stretches we had last year. The race is on harder, wider tracks so the 'there and back' style (of which I must admit I'm not really a big fan) works quite well. It's still quite tough but most of those I spoke to had shaved a couple of minutes off last year's time due to the change in the course. This is probably a good thing as last year was more than just 'undulating'. Overall, very friendly, very enjoyable, very well organised and I'll definitely be back next year.
