In short: Brilliant event with lots & lots of very nice touches
In full: This is a perfectly organised race, that is brilliantly set up to deliver exactly what people are looking for at this time of the year.

Venue is easy to get to, parking was great (and easy to get out after the race), the pre and post race facilities were great, there was plenty of loos, lots of enthusiastic marshalls, water stations, etc, etc, etc...

Everything about this event shows that the organisers really know what they're doing, they know what is important in a race, and they know what not to bother with.

The route is also pretty nice, with enough variety to keep it interesting, but no really challenging climbs.

I will admit to being biased (as I'm a member of the running club set up by the Event organisers), but I would strongly recommend this event to anyone looking for a quality, friendly, well organised event. I would also recommend it to anyone who like a bit of post-race bling - the medals are super shiny :-)

In short: You don't have to be mad as a hatter to do this races- but it helps!
In full: I love this race, and think it should be on everyone's list of races to try.... I also think this is without doubt the best possible way to start the year!

The route is lumpy, and this year it was very muddy. As such, this is not a race to worry about times, or even distances.... However, the scenery is breathtaking and soul-affirming, and the sense of camaraderie and fun amongst the runners is priceless.

Massive thanks to the marshalls, and to Dr Rob and his family....

In full: Very well organised, nice riverside route, cheery marshalls, glorious sunshine.... what's not to like!

Well done Purple Patch, I suspect having to re-route the race was a pain in the ar$e for you, but the new route was fab.....

In short: Really enjoyable race, and dealt with mistakes very well
In full: I did this race for the 2nd time this year, and it really does have a lot going for it.

I found the organisation very good, the start was a little bit crowded due to where one of the many banks of portaloos were placed, but is was a very minor niggle for me. Once we had started, the course is fabulous, the crowd support and volunteer support is outstanding, and apart from the error with the distance this year, I personally think it would be hard to fault.

I will definitely plan to be back next year, and I think the organisers deserve a lot of credit and kudos for how they have dealt with the mistake made on the cone placement....

In short: if you like running in glorious countryside then you'll love this race
In full: I thought this was a fantabulous race - very well organised, clear route markers and cheerful marshalls, stunning scenery and a great combination of a couple of tough ascents and tough descents......

I will definitely be back for more of this next year!
