In short: Great weather. Great race. Well done to the new organisers. In full: Strangely I preferred the two lap 10 miler to the previous one lap 20. The two lady marshalls at 8/18 were fantastic on both loops. Well done Zoom Tri for rescuing a great race. Looked like there was still room for a few more toilets... Date of review: March 1, 2009

In short: Great challenge in a glorious setting In full: I remember thinking over the last five miles whether I would have been happier with streaming rain to wash away the pain! Then you finish and realise that you loved every minute. (Bit of a to-do with some impatient motorists at a busy junction/water station at around mile 23. Apologies to any non-motorists who heard my language!). Great race. Everyone should do it for a real marathon experience. Date of review: September 23, 2008

In short: Fast Route. Slow Organisers. In full: For the cost of the race fee I was really surprised by the inefficiency of the organisation. Nothing should be turning up on the day that would suspend the start of the race. That tent could have been in place the night before. So glad I stayed in town and didn't have to go into the quagmire to drop possessions off. Also glad I finished relatively quickly (1:40) and missed the poor finish organisation. Route very good for a PB albeit not really very scenic but it would be hillier if you could see everything. I'm really not sure if I will return for another crack at this one. The organisers should come out with a public apology for yesterday and a plan to make it right next year - less runners I suggest or a complete change to the village/start/finish flows.
