In short: No better way to start the year! In full: I love this race. Where else are you pursued by a fox, a load of men on hobby horses, super heroes, elves and a duck in a race? It starts with a rousing rendition of God Save the Queen which is a nice touch. The T shirt and mug are great moments and there is always a great collection of nibbles/soup at the finish. Oh and carrots.
This race is not to be missed even if you walk all 10 hideous kms of it. Date of review: January 4, 2016
In short: Hilarious and hideous in equal measure! In full: A great event in glorious surrounds. Most run in fancy dress but the race has sometimes attracted "running royalty". It's frighteningly 3D. All ups and downs. Great T shirt and mug on offer at the finish oh and soup and cheese/pickle buns too. See you next year! Date of review: January 1, 2015
In short: Loved this race. Really unique and lots and lots of fun. In full: Definitely one of the best events I've ever done. The venue is fantastic (Denbies Estate) and they make you feel very welcome (I guess the runners do bring in lots of trade - we certainly bought wine and lots at the farm shop!). The atmosphere is electric with so many great costume wearers in action. The course was surprisingly flat overall - just one decent hill in it. I loved it. Thank you to all the marshalls/helpers/organisers. Date of review: September 15, 2014
