In short: The best marathon / road-race I've ever run...flawless In full: I have done far too many marathons, including London twice and Paris, and a number of smaller 'local' ones. I have done a large number of shorter distance road races, and quite a few ultras... ...and this is the best organised, prettiest scenery and strongest supported / marshalled event it has been my pleasure to do. I run out of praise to compliment the organisers. There was even an ice-cream van at the end to enjoy the sunshine in. Awesome! Date of review: May 15, 2012

In short: Great PB potential, better organised this year. In full: After reading previous years rating, I was fairly nervous about the organisation here, but despite a few negative reviews here, I think the organisation was on a par with most running club races - a few niggles but nothing serious.
The course is fabulously flat - real PB potential, and a good crowd of club runners to pull you along.
Good scenery, cheery marshalls, and pleasant weather. Well worth travelling for! Date of review: March 15, 2011

In short: Hilly, cross country....satisfying run In full: Wouldn't really call this a race, but it's a great LSR, with enough mud and hills to occupy the mind. Good fun. Date of review: March 6, 2011

In short: Absolute madness - slippery muddy farm tracks.........in the dark! In full: Ok Ok, only about half of the 6.5m lap was on slippery muddy farm track, but they are what you remember!
A great event, lovely atmosphere and superb organisation.
If you are gettnig bored of marathons, and are looking for something with a bit of bite....this is for you. Date of review: February 25, 2011

In short: All races should be like this! (Apart from the hills) In full: My second time on this course, so I expected the hills (but they still hurt).
Once again...flawless organisation, exemplary marshalls and overall this is a great example of how a race should be. Be even better without all those damn hills though. Date of review: February 15, 2011

In short: A great race - highly reccommended In full: My third time at this, great scenery as always, a couple of tough hills to sort the men from the boys.....slick organisation and friendly atmosphere.
In response to the complaints about the finish, I suppose it could have been 'jazzed up' a bit more...personally I much prefered it to the previous slow drag up the road. I must agree with the comments about lack of drink at the end - I'm not sure I've ever done a longish race that didn't finish with a drink of some type. Overall, a cracking race though - I'll be back! Date of review: January 31, 2011

In short: Great race, hilly but scenic. In full: I enjoyed the new course, thought the scenery was lovely and provided you weren't desperate for a quick time the hills were manageable.
As always, the marshalls & water stations were great, and the general atmosphere was really positive.
I'd agree with other reviews about the benefits of starting at Fowlmead, and personally I preferred the new course. Please can we keep it? Date of review: June 2, 2010

In short: Nice friendly race, but some nasty hills. In full: This had some of the nicest scenery I've run in a while, a friendly crowd taking part & marshalling, and a nice mix of abilities.
But personally, if I'm going to run a 10k, I'm looking for potential for a PB, and this was just too hilly for that. It was described to me as 'a couple of steep hills' but unfortunately felt seriously undulating all the way round. Date of review: May 19, 2010

In short: Nice race, superb organisation. In full: Nice course, deceptively tough, enjoyed the scenery, but not the Greenway (especially the second time around).
Water in cups was a bit of a pain, but not the catastrophe that others have stated. I actually thought there were really quite alot of water stations.
A couple of hills that broke up the monotony and some great marshalls (although I think some thought we were quite mad).
Overall, a nice race, but probably not special enough to keep me coming back year after year. Interestingly, i didn't meet anyone doing it that had done it before.....I wonder if that tells a story. Date of review: April 26, 2010

In short: Cracking race! In full: My third time at this one, and again it ran like clockwork - even the weather was great.
In response to the numerous people complaining about lack of toilets at the race HQ, I'd simply point them to the sea-front where the race started, and the many public toilets there!
Great marshalling (in the cold), a few challenging hills, and a PB by 8 mins. What more could you ask?
