In short: Great race, monster climbs, nice dip at the end
In full: This was my first multi-terrain race, really enjoyed it. The ground was pretty hard although there were some patches of mud, tough on the ankles as some of the surfaces were quite rutted but if it had been muddy the climbs would have been more tiring so bit of a trade off really. The marshals were great and there were lots of them so the course was always clear and the big line of runners meant you were never in any doubt about where to go. The four main climbs were hard and I mainly walked especially after the first one, but all part of the challenge and what makes the event stand out from a normal cross country for me. The dip the River Avon in the last mile was ok and a good way to finish off the course. The cakes and tea at the end were very welcome, someone must have baking for weeks. I was near the back of the field but there were still plenty of cakes left. Would definitely like to do this race again.

In full: A great race pretty much flat with lovely countryside. Also a race for everyone our kids did the fun runs my wife did the 3 mile and I did the 10 mile. All great fun even some entertainment for the kids. Have done the last 3 years worth noting it has been pretty hot all three years.

In short: A great day, good for a first marathon and Stratford Upon Avon is a brilliant setting.
In full: This was my first marathon, the course was great a few inclines and one reasonable hill which you do twice at 8 miles and 19 miles, what a view from the top. Plenty of flat bits. The only thing that was lacking was very few spectators to cheer you on in the last three miles, but some people where cycling and giving nice encouragement. But the finish was good and they did shout nice and loud. Plenty of water stops, very friendly marshalls, nice to have two laps so you knew what was coming in those last few miles. Highly recommended hoping to do it again training permitting.
