In short: Just my kind of thing
In full: I bloody love running over the soft, loose, and fine-gravelled surfaces thayt make up the trails in this area, they are so much more forgiving on your body than concrete roads.

Thank you Astley and Tydlesley - this is a cracking little race, i will be back every year from now on.

In short: Most Enjoyable
In full: I really enjoyed this run and hope it becomes a regular feature in the running calendar.

It was run over a belting little course that was made up of connecting stretches of disused railway line, cross country, trail and grass paths.

Amazingly i was fifth finisher (due to the fact that the sharp end of the field missed a left turn.)

I hope the organisers continue with this race and make it an annual event as it will be a welcome addition to the local trail running calendar

In short: A quick but not super quick course and a highly enjoyable experience
In full: A highly enjoyable Sunday morning was had, i'll be there every month from now on.

The course is quick but not super quick owing to a couple of sharp turns on each lap.

In short: I was well and truely smitten by the Gravy 6
In full: If you didn't experience the gravy 6 trail race in 2005 make sure you do it in 2006.

Primarily along the Longendale trail and taking in a loop of one of the many reservoirs in the area this race is perfect for those who like getting out into the fresh air of the countryside; away from the confines and the monotony of built up areas and traffic clogged roads.

Well done the Gravy lads it was a huge success, long may it continue.

In short: They don't come much better
In full: If you are into trail running they don't come much better than this.

In my opinion this race really has got everything a trail race should have. It is a true 'multi terrain' event, with connecting stretches of cross country, trail, stony paths, grass paths, earth tracks, canal tow paths, disused railway lines, shady woods, riverside running etc etc.
