In short: The only way is up! In full: I knew this was going to be tough and that there were a lot of hills but I'd still underestimated them. Long climbs up and then some very steep dips down which were almost as hard on the legs. Add to this some flooding, lashing rain and gusty wind and you've got a tough morning on your hands. But I loved it - great atmosphere, very friendly, the last mile is a lovely gentle decline, a nice t-shirt to remember the morning by. The tea tent might have been expensive but that was an enormous Danish Pastry and a good cup of tea and I deserved them both! Thank you Marlow Striders - you did a great job. In short: The last 3 miles are all uphill! In full: A lovely, friendly race with great views and some challenging long hills. Missed the jelly babies by the lighthouse this year but enjoyed the sunshine and all the local support. I'll be back next year. Date of review: July 6, 2009

In short: Great London warm up. In full: I really enjoyed this race. Great atmosphere - maybe thats what you always get on a (nearly) all girl startline and I really enjoyed overtaking the men. Excellent, clear communication from the organisers in the run-up to the race. Didn't think the toilet queues were too bad. The marshalls were having a very hard time from cyclists and maybe there should be more warning signs for non participants. It is quite expensive but it sold out and I don't think the narrow course could cope with any more people. Liked the early start, good practice for London logistics. I was impressed - thank you!
