In short: Well-organised race with great PB potential In full: I happily travel from the Kent/Surrey border to do this run. Organisation is very good - smooth pre-registration, efficient car-parking, supportive marshalling, excellent announcer etc. I would agree with other reviewers - (whether hot or not) it would be good to have another out and back water station on the course (2 and 8 miles?) and there needed to be more toilets. The only other suggestion is to have a graduated start based on expected finish times. (It felt like I spent most of the first lap of the field running on the spot!). Date of review: April 11, 2009

In short: Real PB potential In full: Once again, well organised, friendly fun run that has the added bonus of offering real PB potential. I was worried that we may be in for another mudbath (as last year) but it turned out to be perfect conditions despite the rain this week. The marshalls were out in force with ready smiles and encouraging words. That said, I still think that registering on the day is a bit steep! Date of review: March 29, 2009

2009 Sevenoaks Rotary Knole Park 10K

In short: Beautiful Day, Beautiful Scenery, Beastful Hills In full: Perfect running conditions for this year's race (especially compared to 2008!). The long climbs between 0-2km and 5-7km are made up for by flat/downhill the rest of the course. Difficulties parking delayed the start but (unlike last year) this was not too much to endure in the sunshine. Glad to see the organisers responded to the problems with the Kissing Gate last year. It would have been good to have marshalls to hand out water at 5km. It's also a bit expensive - cup of water, a banana and a medal for £14! The change of course at the top of the hill is better. 2009 Les Witton Memorial Dartford 10

In short: Not as good as last year! In full: Having spent 2008 singing the praises of DRR and the Dartford 10 to anyone who would listen, I have to say I am a little disappointed. Although I actually thought the route was better, it was a bit cheeky to get rid of the Championchip timing without reducing the entry fee(especially as it took about 50 seconds to get over the start line). To add insult to injury, the goody bag was nowhere near as good as last year - perhaps it's the credit crunch! Dartford 10 is still a good race and I will return but I do feel short-changed! 2008 Swanley Christmas Caper

In short: A fun run that was fun to run! In full: A very well organised pre-Christmas event Undulating rather than hilly and only 4.2 miles makes this perfect for fun runners. More serious runners may find the short and rather odd distance frustrating (It would be a great 10K) and think it is not worth travelling for but they would be wrong! Even some of the serious runners got into the spirit of things. Bar-humbug to the rest of you! Date of review: December 9, 2008

2008 Cuckmere House Challenge 10K

In short: Low key fun run with some truly great scenery but NOT 10K! In full: Friendly organisation, a good cause and magnificent scenery makes this race a potential gem. Amazingly only 100+ hardy souls (and very few club runners) braved the wind and rain. I am sure many felt short-changed by a course which is nearer 9K then 10. If this course is accurately measured in the future it could develop into one the best 10Ks on the circuit. Date of review: November 23, 2008

2008 Leatherhead Fire Station 10k Race

In short: An enjoyable run with plenty of variety. In full: A race of two halfs. First 4K through suburban streets and beautiful woodland is uphill (with two notable stretches between 1&2K and 3&4K). Following the long meandering downhill after the half-way, it's flat(ish) all the way home. The written comments on each of the Km markers is a nice touch that other races could follow (They often gave useful info on km ahead) This is an efficiently organised race that deserves its popularity. It could be improved by having more people on the waterstop, some 800m, 600m, 400m etc count down markers over the last km and a medal that actually indicates the name of the race. I know it was for charity but I'm sure some comapnies would give something for a goody bag at the end(see Dartford 10). Well done to all involved! Date of review: November 9, 2008

In short: Wish I had a kite In full: Was on course for a new World, European, British and Commonwealth record striding out along the promenade with the wind on my back. Then treacle. If the wind does not blow this has great PB potential. Date of review: October 21, 2008

In short: Two long uphills :( Two longer downhills :) In full: It would be criminal to have this park and not arrange a fundraising run through it. The Rotary Club of Sevenoaks have not sat back knowing that Knole Park is a winner. This ia a well organised, challenging race that can be enjoyed by fun runners and club runners alike. In short: Bring your Karabiners and Crampons In full: This race effectively starts at 6.5 miles. However, it does NOT (sadly) end 1.5 miles later when/if you reach the summit. Take your time to gently jog down to Penshurst (taking in the beautiful countryside)then don your climbing gear for Fordcombe Hill - leaving enough juice in the batteries for the 5 mile home run.
