In short: steep going up - steep coming down !
In full: A warm day - great for the accompanying funday and sports funday. Race is a straightforward hill climb and then descent - 2 miles up,a flat top bit and about 1.5 back down then a flat 0.5 to the finish. Its very steep going up and was a bit slippery on the chalk and clay - had to walk some of it but that was the gradient not the slipping! Going down was through the woods and a bit muddy underfoot and very steep - run it or fall on your face ! A hard race but ita advertised as a hill race and you get what it says on the tin. All in all a great family funday out for adults, kids and the dog who took on the 1 mile fun run.

In short: already in next years diary
In full: I admit its a biased review because its my home town race. Again, well organised & marshalled especially in the constant rain.A tough course and a potential ankle twister esp. in the wet but that makes it the type of race it is. Good friendly competitors and organisers. Special thanks to the Leisure Centre for staying open late and for the showers at finish. Roll on next year, fitness willing

In short: tough - but fair and fun
In full: Hills, hills, hills, where does Mark find them ? We were blessed with some glorious weather which kept the muddy bits to a minimum but certainly brought out the sweat on the uphill bits. Hard & long first hill to the top of the White Horse but worth it for the glorious view almost all the way round. Lots of grass, a bit of tarmac, twists and turns on the coastal path & did i mention some hills? Killer last mile - first the beach and deep shingle at the end then turn back for the steep uphill to Bowleaze viewpoint but you do finish with a nice downhill which looks good for the cameras. Course very well marked out, chocs and drinks chucked in at the end as well. Well done Bustinskin, another great run.

In short: the extra mile made the fun last longer
In full: Very muddy and wet this one. They had to reroute part of the course(hence the extra 1.13 miles)as it was under 4ft of water. Didnt miss out on plenty of other floodwater though. I reckon it was 2ft deep in places - and so was some of the mud!! One short steep (walk up) hill at halfway the rest of it was pretty flat - possible pb on a dry month. Great fun -slipping,sliding & wading as well as some running. Very well organised & marshalled by YTRRC as always - thanks to them - I will be back.

In short: bloody hilly but interesting to say the least
In full: Enjoyed it. Very hilly, ups and downs.Great views but looking where you are running is more important. A few man made obstacles to complete as well as the running. Makes it more fun (i think).Great atmosphere at the end with beer, chocolate and hot dogs thrown in. Hopefully get a bigger crowd next time - it deserves it.

In short: excellent organisation - good fun and hard race
In full: Thank you to everyone involved in organising this - i was very impressed with the whole event -my kids did the fun run and i did the 8 miler. Lovely running weather, cool and damp was a great start. I love x country and this had mud, mud, grass, hills, some road and added up to lots of fun. its not an easy run but i loved it. A good family occasion as well, 4 different length runs, hot drinks, cakes, burgers and some nice marshalls all made it a great day out. Just sorry i had to leave before everyone finished and i couldnt stay to clap them all home and watch the presentations. I will be back next year !!

In short: Good multi terrain race
In full: The rain lashed down for the whole race making major puddles on the roads and mud mud mud on the off road bits. Brilliant fun!!
Thanks to the lots of well organised and friendly marshalls who braved the elements. I was glad i was running not marshalling. Nice route, some hills but nice and varied with on road and off road tracks, fields, woods etc. Nice hat as a momento - thanks

In short: tough hills - but thats why i did it
In full: Hard terrain - steep uphills and downs, rough narrow track around the castle outer loop. You need to keep your eyes on where you are running rather than look at the scenery for much of this race. Saw a couple of injured runners retire. But it felt good to finish it and the showers were superb.
Well organised and well marshalled - will be back next year.

In short: Not done many races but this was the best so far - by a long way
In full: Brilliant fun - flint tracks, rough fields, woods, mud, 2 rivers to cross etc. Very little on the flat, long uphills and fast downhills. Never had this much fun without a drink in my hand. Excellent organisation and good marshalls - will be back next year - thanks Forde Abbey.

In short: some tough climbs - nice mainly off roader
In full: Enjoyed this this morning. Very warm (24 degrees) which made the steep hill at 1k and 6k hard but some of the course is run in the shade of the woods. Great friendly atmosphere and well flagged and marshalled. Thank you YTRRC - I will be back next year hopefully.
