In short: Splendid, well organised race In full: After driving 5 hours to get to this one my hopes were high, and I was not disappointed. The organisation was slick, the marshals encouraging and attentive, the course (although undulating in parts) was perfect, the finish well organised and plenty of smiles all round. My daughter and husband did the Fun Run and have equal praise. Thankyou! Date of review: May 13, 2013

In short: Splendid race In full: Lovely day, weather was kind, very friendly Marshals (I hope thanked them all on the way round), water stations well run and efficient. In all a super race. One little comment, what happened about the medal this year, didn't seem a patch on past years? Date of review: April 28, 2013

In short: Did someone mention hills? In full: Super race, but those hills... I had tried to find the course profile online beforehand and worked on my hill training, but nothing prepared me for what was to come. It was the relentless hills for the first half plus the cold that just made this my slowest HM this year. Despite that - lovely race, great organisation, super marshals who I made a point of thanking as I went past (they must have been freezing with standing still for so long). The locals with orange segments was very much appreciated and welcome, the scouts at the water tables were great and in all a fun race. Well done all of us who completed it on such a cold day. In short: Lovely busy race In full: What a chilly morning, but a splendid race. Park and ride worked well, maybe too well as at one point the guys managing the queues said there were 600 people waiting to get on buses - and at 9.30 they made the sensible decision to prioritise runner rather than let the supporters on. Well done whoever made that call! The race was very well supported, lovely amount of people cheering on. Only annoying part was that by every one of the Heart FM gazebos the floor was absolutely deep in discarded jelly babies that you could either try to dodge around (and crash into other runners) or run over and end up with them mashed in the bottom of your shoes ...eughhh. I chose the latter. Super race though, I'll be back next year

In short: Decent race but let itself down at the end In full: Despite the weather (which simply cannot be helped) this was a decent race. Organsation was good, it ran smoothly, Marshals were splendid. What a shame it let itself down badly at the end. Whilst some of us waited for the back markers - to encourage them in - those beginner runners, who had been out (of course) longer than others, to cheer and encourage them in....the finish area was dismantled before they were even in sight. What the organisers need to remember is that it is these grass root runners who add to the numbers to pay into the club funds. Would it have hurt to have kept the finish area in place an extra 10 minutes? No? Then maybe think and act on this next year. Take a lesson from Gosport Half Marathon's books of last week, where the tail runners received more of a cheer and encouragement from the organisers and announcers. Such a small but hugely important detail Havant AC if you want to encourage running. Date of review: November 25, 2012

In short: Love this race In full: What a splendid race, organisation faultless. Marshals brilliant and enthusiastic. Goody bag full of goodies - not full of leaflets. Well done team! This was my second time with you and I will be back for sure. Oh and lots of smiles from my 9 year old who loved the fun run! Date of review: November 18, 2012

In short: Love this race In full: Well this one was my first ever Half Marathon in 2011, and was my 10th Half Marathon this year - it holds a firm place in my heart and again it exceeded expectations. Organisation seamless from ballot to receiving medals and simply a lovely race to run. Marshalls are great fun with even the one on Whitehall who reminded us all to "think of Eye of the Tiger" and "What would Rocky do?" ....quality and made me chuckle. Well done to the organisers again for another splendid race Date of review: October 8, 2012

In short: Great soggy fun In full: What a splendid race, this was my first time at this race and what an experience. The weather was indeed rather wet and wild, but the marshals were so friendly and positive, the water stations responsive and the overall organisation slick. There were several cheeky little hills but the support from the hardy locals (human and equine) helped the runners along. Although I missed getting a PB I will certainly be back.
